I notice those words, in fact I've started using some of them in my everyday language. Now when someone irks me I call them a fruitnut. I get that one a lot. Now seriously, is that beautiful flower actually growing wild somewhere? It's really beautiful.
Hi Tammy! Fruitnut is a good one! Seriously, the wild iris grow everywhere this time of year. The meadows are filled with clumps of them! I remember how upset I was when our neighbor many years ago mowed his meadow and chopped them all down!! I thought that should be near a criminal offense LOL! Have a wonderful Sunday, Tammy, thanks for stopping by to day!
I think I might have been whopping my neighbor with a stick for mowing the down. But I don't like my neighbor so much anyway. I've got to do something really sweet for my Donald today. He's such a great dad to my daughter, I owe him. You have a great Sunday too.
:-) I bet you will figure out something really nice to do for Donald, Tammy! I felt like whopping him - but refrained LOL!!
Thanks for the clarification Mary. that word always trips me up! Frankly I like the Iris. I miss Iris, we don't have those in HOT Florida.
Hi Terry, many of those words trip me up! It's like a foreign language LOL! I'm glad you like the iris, Terry and you would probably love this- our current temp is 68 degrees - 6:23p.m. Colorado time :-). I haven't been really hot yet this year :-(
I've often wondered where some of those "captchas" come from and if they have any meaning.
Apparently this one did!
And now I've expanded my word base.
Thank you Mary!
Hi Mary-That flower is gorgeous. There are lots of funny words we have to type in to prevent spammers but they still get in sometimes. Thank you for mine. <SMILE>
Hi Craig, I think they all are words, I'm just not sure in what language, LOL! I appreciate you stopping by today, now you'll have to use the word in a sentence each day for a week to remember it ! Good luck with that :-)
Hi Sharon, Hope you are feeling better! The spammers do get in, now I'm worried I gave them an answer! I'm glad you liked the iris and the poppies, Sharon! Take care and thank you for stopping by!
The first one I looked up was "eggfruit". I've thought of making a list and looking them all up, but that's for the days when I have nothing to do.
Love the picture of your iris!
Hi Linda, Thanks for the iris compliment. Now what the heck is an egg fruit? Is that like a dweeb or a nerd ?? ..or a tree that grows fruit that tastes like eggs?? LOL!!!
Mary,
Love the wild iris. Very pretty shape and color. I nnver thought it was that other thing anyway. :)
Steve
Hi Steve, Thank you, I think they are among the prettiest of the wild flowers here....of course, I've never seen that other thing. ;-)
I saw a blog about how Colorado (Springs) needs to have an Iris Festival, since we have SO many varieties that thrive here, you chose a beauty to photograph! P.S. I assumed that most of those words were random and made up, thanks for the info!
The wild Iris are now being replaced by the Indian Paintbrushes. The prairie is dotted with splashes of red.
What a beautiful crop of wild flowers we Coloradoans have this year.
Hi Cheryl, An Iris Festival is a new idea, I do see them planted everywhere--my mom used to call them "flags" -- I love the wild iris though! 'glad you liked this one Cheryl.....and now we know, those captchas really are words! LOL!!! Thanks for stopping by today :-) Have a great weekend!
Hi Sabrina, I agree with you, all the rain this Spring has brought out gorgeous wildflowers this year. I love the Indian Paintbrush too - I spotted one ( only one) yesterday -- they are just fantastic! I appreciate your thoughts today , Sabrina. Hope you have a greeat weekend and thanks for stopping by today!
Now that explanation is the LAST thing I would picture when hearing the word Grumichama !!!!!
I would think more along the lines of a festival for grumpy folk ???
... oh maybe thats a 'Grumpichama' ????
Either way - nice discovery and we all learned something from this post !!
... sorry I missed this for a while, I keep missing your profile pic update on my blogroll ....
Hope you are well !!!
:o)
HAHAHAHA!! Sheldon, Yes!! The Grumpy people festival ! I heard they had a terrific turnout this year LOL!! Sheldon, people who change their profile pic are really confusing me on the blog roll! No worries, glad you came by, always nice to see you! Thanks, friend.
This is a really beautiful flower. Some days I really wish I had a penchant for gardening.
Hi Stacey-Ann, thank you! The best part about this flower is it grows wild -- no gardening to do. I find when I try to plant flowers, the deer think it's a salad bar!! Better to just enjoy the wild ones. I appreciate you stopping by today, have a great weekend Stacey-Ann!
