ActiveRain Reaches 150,000 Members

On June 19, 2009 the ActiveRain Real Estate Network reached the 150,000 member mark. Congratulations to Jonathan Washburn, Bob Stewart, Matt Heaton, and the entire ActiveRain Team on this monumental accomplishment! Your vision, passion and dedication to building this extraordinary real estate community are unparalleled.

Founded in 2006, it was less than a year ago, on July 25, 2008 that ActiveRain passed 100,000 members. Since then, the network has rocketed to 150,000 in under 11 months, an annual growth rate of over 50% and an average of over 4,500 new members per month.

I'm sure the AR Team has several plans in the works to build on this momentum. It's going to be an exciting time as the network moves to 200,000 members and beyond. Congrats ActiveRain!

this..despite the reduction of Realtors for the past 12 months...

Yes John,There are 150,000 members...but how many are actually still here...I had left for a year and alot of those faces are gone when I returned....I would love to see how many are actually still around actively.

Truly an amazing benchmark in this environment. AR is terrific!

I see many blogs complaining about certain aspects of AR. I, for one, am very appreciative that AR provides us this forum, with which to share/gain knowledge and express our views.

Hi John - Amazing how fast the site has grown in a short period of time. It is a tribute to the AR staff and it's members together.

Quite a milestone.

Interesting that according to NAR only 8% of Realtors blog.

Activerain has helped so many enter the world of blogging.

John - This is very cool stuff, huh? I think there were around 35,000 or so when I got actively involved here on AR.

John, I think more and more real estate agents are being turned on to the importance of blogging. AR is definitely catching on. They are doing a good job.

Thanks for doing the math for us John. I think member #150,000 should be recognized and introduced. We did that at our real estate Board with member number 1000 a few years ago. The poor guy Mario got called Mr. 1000 all the time after that.

We're all supportive of A/R . . . who wouldn't be where they are today had it not been for Realtors(r) -- for the most part -- who built up the site for them. Let's hope they don't bite the hand that feeds it.

Hey..let's all write one lol! It's a grand occasion John. I started the beginning part of 2007 at only about 19k or so members. What an accomplishment for the Rain!

John, I saw the odometer move as well and it is a credit to many here from the early days making that number increase! I think I started paying attention to the members numbers at about 46,000 which doesn't seem that long ago.

Thanks for bringing this up John. This is an incredible milestone for AR. I think I was member number 800 or so. Never would I have imagined having 150,000.

John... If I'm not mistaken, you were the first person to invite me to ActiveRain when there were only about 7000 total members. It has grown a bit since then.

John, I'm interested to know who #150,000 is.

BLRGUY noted that of the 150,000 +, not all of them are active on AR.

I'm not the one to decide who is, or is not, an AR member, it would be nice to clear away those who are not active -- an inactive status.

Lest I forget, I am grateful for this forum. It has allowed me to learn far more than I ever imagined I would learn about some things I didn't even know existed.

Active rain has come a long way. I remember when there were less than a thousand members maybe just a few hundred.

John - Great post ! I have been watching that number creep up and it is great that it was crossed ! Congrats to AR and all of the AR members !

When I started in 2008 I believe there were 131,000....way to go Active Rain.

I still wonder how many are real. In my own state, well over half the "members" are fake profiles.
