This is by far the most awesome network I've ever had the opportunity to be a member of. Since I joined AR in late December of 2008 I've made friends through out the states and Canada. If I'm gone for more than a week at a time I get personal emails from my AR friends making sure my family and I are okay.

I've never seen a nicer, caring group of strangers in my entire life. Then it hit me,you're not strangers at all. You're all friends that I just haven't met in person yet, but have talked to and with on-line. We've shared stories about our families, jobs, careers, hopes, dreams, successes and failures. Well, if that's not the true definition of friendship, then I don't know what is.

I just want to thank you all for your friendship and support. I'll be writing a post this weekend to introduce you all to my daughter and three wonderful and mischievous grandsons who are the reason I've been missing from AR for the past 3 or so weeks. Thank you all again, your all wonderful and I'm happy to be a member of this wonderful family of friends.

I hope you enjoyed my blog. If you are looking to purchase a home in Northeastern Pa. and are planning on having an inspection or simply have questions regarding home inspections, please don't hesitate to give me a call.

John,
Thank you... I'm glad you are as well. You were one of the first members to welcome my son. Don't think for a moment I didn't notice.

Dawn, you're so right. Here on AR it's not just a title that we throw around, it's really the way we feel. I love being here.

Susan...

I think what it all boils down to in the end, is the community. That's what keeps me here!

You said that very well and we have all missed you.  I wondered what happened to you.  And what has happened to Zane?  Remember him?

I can't wait to meet them Sue.  I've missed you, but when you said you had family "issues" I understand.  My family comes first too.  Hope things settle down soon.

Suesan -  Your statement, "You're all friends that I just haven't met in person yet. . ." is so true!  Back in 1995 I met a woman through an on-line group.  She lived in Florida, and I live in California.  We didn't have an opportunity to meet for 11 years.  But, we always seem to think alike, and almost be able to finish each other's sentences.  The two of us were almost afraid to meet for fear it would burst the bubble.  However, in 2006, she and her husband made a trip to California, and we had the most wonderful visit.  They returned the following year too.  We are almost as close as sisters.

I agree with you...it is more than just a bunch of real estate people blogging, it is a community!  I have made online friends that have become real life friends.  Enjoy the fellowship and the education that is available on Active Rain!  It is awesome!

Hi Suesan, the longer you stay here the more nice folks you will come to know and love. And what's even more satisfying eventually you will meet a bunch of these strangers in person, and it is so weird, as they won't even be like strangers to you.

Suesan, You have been missed. Welcome back and congratulations on your featured post. AR is a fabulous community of friends, I look forward to meeting some of these friends in person when I travel  to see my son in SC. As you said and I will repeat it is the community of friends that keep me coming back ti Active Rain.   It is my daily dose of vitamins.

Suesan, THAT explains your disappearance! We all do it from time to time. We are truly a family -- we just haven't met each other IRL. (But it's only a matter of time!)

Glad to have you back -- and I can't wait to read your post about your daughter & grandsons!

Hi Suesan - some time ago, Teresa Boardman wrote a post about friends, and 'the friends who live in my computer'.  Like your quote about everyone being friends that we just haven't mat in person made me think of 'the friends who live in my computer'.  Sometimes, those friends know more about us than our in-person friends do.

I love all my friends who live in my computer!

I promise to come back a little later and answer each and everyone of your comments, but since it's Father's Day this too will have to be put off just a little longer. I feel I need to spend some quiet quality time with my wonderful husband who just seems to go with the flow regardless of what's thrown in his path (these days that seems to be tiny, small, med, and average sized grand-kids).

Richard- I totally agree. The members that make up Active Rain are the reason I stay as well. Thank you for commenting and have a wonderful Father's Day.

Hi Dan- Great to see you and Happy Father's Day. You're right they are definitely being spoiled, but it's more from their aunts uncles and grandpa than it is from grandma.

Thanks Bob and Happy Fathers Day to you.

Hi Barbara, thank you I missed you guys as well. Yes I remember Zane, I'll get an email out to him and see what he's up to.

Hi Tammy- I don't think they'll settle down as much as it's that we're getting used to it. Being 50 and not have little ones in our lives for more than a day or two is a whole different ball game than having them around 24/7. My daughter has gotten a job already and when she's working grandma and grandpa are on watch. Takes a little getting used to again, that's all.

Tina - Yes we are lucky to have such a wonderful group of friends. Family pictures coming up soon.

Myrl- That's such a lovely story, maybe I'll be as lucky as well someday. Thank you for sharing this story with us.

Ginger - AR is the best, I love it here.

Donna- I feel the same way you do. Thank you for you wonderful comment.

My hubby just came back with the boys. He says they're tired and want baths and bed. Guess I'll have to get used to blogging around baths ... lol. Be back to answer more comments in a bit.

Suesan, You are so right!  I feel as if I have friends all around the country.  AR is a great place for learning and building friendships.

Jeani- You're totally right, it's about a lot more than just blogging. I learn more everyday I'm here and I miss my friends when I'm not. Thank you for stopping by, hope to read some of your posts in the very near future.

Al and Peggy, thanks ... it's great to be back. I was hoping to introduce my "other" family today, but it being Fathers Day we had the whole gang here. That a lot of kids and grandkids etc. I'll try again tomorrow.

Gary, so true. I remember my first days on Active Rain. I felt some what lost and sure of what to do or who to interact with. Since then I have a whole list of blogs I follow and friends that I communicate with on personal email and on the phone. It's the neatest thing. Thanks for commenting on my post, yours is one of the first blogs I ever read and commented on.
Sue

Kathleen - Thank you, I missed you all very much. It was hard having only a few minutes here and there in between the little ones. I still got to read a few posts, but never had time to comment. It's so nice to hear that you'll be meeting some of your AR friends soon. I've had the pleasure of talking to a few on the phone so far and thought that was so neat.

Marney- Thanks, it's great to be back. I'll post their happy little faces tomorrow morning.

Ann, I know just what you mean and it's so true. My AR friends know things about me and my family that my real time friends don't.

Irene- you do have friends from all around the country. You'll see, if you don't post or comment for a week or longer, you'll get personal email making sure things are okay. Only friends care enough to do that. It's great to have so many friends spread out all over the country and Canada without ever having left your home. Only here can we do this.

Congratulations on that little gold star! I actually lost a lot of ActiveRain friends when Jim and I got married last October 30. Oh, well. ActiveRain rocks, rolls, and rules, but it's no different from any other organization that I've been in with the prejudice of individual members. The main difference here is that even though we're all part of the same group, one doesn't have to associate or visit the blogs of those one doesn't like. I get a kick out of visiting my former friends and commenting. In fact, one recently sent me one of the foulest emails you've ever seen asking me to stay away from his blog. I'll have to do a blog post on that one. Could get some interesting comments.

You know I'll be reading it. Hope it's no one I'm associating with ... that would suck. As for you loosing some of you're readers because of your personally life choices, that the most stupid, narrow minded, bigoted self-serving crap I ever heard off. Some people need to get a life. That way they wouldn't have the time to judge everyone else's.

First, you have the right to choose whom you marry. Second, it has no barring on your professional expertise. Third Jim seems to be a great guy, he's commented on a bunch of my posts and I've been commenting on his. I'll have to out you wedding anniversary in my events log so I don't forget to send you both an anniversary card.

Let me know if and when you post that blog, just in case I miss it with all the new things going on around my house.

Hi Jim,
Thank you for caring. We're okay, still trying to get a handle on managing work, life and the grand-kids. I'll try not to disappear for a while.
