complete home inspections brentwood tnEarlier in the day I wrote a post about about rehabbed properties and where there are areas where the contractors will skimp, and pass less than desirable workmanship or practices on to the unsuspecting public just because the public normally doesn't know any better.

Although crawl spaces need to be vented, there is a specific design and size that meets acceptable trade practices. Common HVAC registers? Definitely a No no! Needless to say, I got a chuckle out of this one...

Have a great Saturday evening, Y'all... 8-)

Michael, I guess someone was probably trying to make do with something they had laying around that kinda looked like the whatamacallit that was supposed to go there.

I have an upcoming closing on a flip and our laundry list of walk-through items and home inspection items was fairly long.  It was just shoddy and or slopping workmanship.  Simple things such as attempting to put the kickplate back on the dishwasher, upside down and missing screws.  The reason the screws were most likely missing as they couldn't get the holes to match up because it was upside down.  Geezzzz even I could figure that out.

Michael - You sure that's covering the crawl space? They might just want to have a/c in the backyard. LOL

Michael - A few of your last posts were funny because you are showing us what NOT to do or what hazards to watch for. Good learning material. Thanks for putting them together.

Good post Michael.  So many "Rehab Contractors" can dress things up but when you look under the hood, so to speak, there is a squirrel cage where the engine should be.

Those vents are cheaper than a real crawl space vent. It's all about the bottom line.
