I pretty well knew what was below me, but I still missed the step, the rock, and sometimes even my own big feet, causing me to trip.

My wise old grandmother eventually convinced me to keep my eyes on the ground in front of me.

Throughout life, as I continued to gain experience walking and coordinating my eyes with my big feet about six feet below, I learned that I can look up occasionally and not miss anything. Such was the case at the San Diego Zoo recently when I looked up and saw a tree above me. And these were hanging from the tree:

What is it? Haven't got a clue.     What is it? Haven't got a clue.

What are they and what kind of tree is it? Haven't got a clue. But I sure wanted some cotton candy after seeing them.

Didn't you know, cotton grows on trees in San Diego.  In Texas they grow on the ground in the fields along side the highways.

Hey, Angelia - I've spent many a day in the cotton fields in Texas, but I was always looking for snakes, raccoons, opossums, and anything else that I might be able to catch and take home. I had enough cotton balls on those darn Q-tips.

Hey, Andrea - Even though my wise old grandmother is gone, I keep adding things to her Book of Wisdom.

Hey, Diane - It was much more than a "bush," I can assure you of that. I had to take those pictures with my 300mm telephoto lens.

Hey, Rebecca - I have a little kitty cat that thinks money grows on trees. She gets tired of her toys in a couple of days and wants new ones. Hmmmmm. Just like a little human - LOL.
