Localism - Where do you add a city?

By
Real Estate Agent with HER Realtors

Sheila Moran asked in a post how to add a city on Localism.... Localism, Localism where for art thou Localism (Members Only) Sheila wanted to add Gruene Texas to Localism.  Sheila wrote a post about a Gruene TX restaurant for consumers.

I commented that it was done on ActiveRain... but today I went to look and I can't see where you add a city.

My Texas geography sucks ... I was trying to find Gruene in Dallas County first... but then went and found content about Gruene and found this post from June 2008. Gruene is in Comal County Texas?

From Carl and Ceil Winters Gruene New Braunfels places to stay things to do for June 2008

The post is not posted to Localism... written by an inspector maybe they just want to talk to real estate agents, not the general public about local events. Or was this posted before we had the NEW Localism, after the first Localism was shut down and before the NEW Localism was introduced in 2008?

groups that the post was posted in

Note "Posts to Localism" is an ActiveRain group.  ActiveRain groups are for ActiveRain members.  Posting something to any group about Localism is NOT the same as posting the content to people outside the real estate industry, on the website called Localism which is designed to be a Neighboripedia.

Later posts on the Winters' blog are posted to Localism:

categories and groups

This post has been included in is Localism.  That is totally different than posting to groups.  If this post was included in a county, city and neighborhood that would show there too....

I tried to find Gruene in Comal County but could not find it there either...

Totally confused I went back to Ohio  (do you hear Akron native Chrissy Hynde's voice when you say "I went back to Ohio" ?  I remember the Pretenders song about her city being gone from before I moved to Akron Ohio in the early 80's.... but I digress...

I went back to Ohio and pretended to add a City... but could not.  You can add neighborhoods but we can't add a City (town, village, etc?)

Where do you add a city on ActiveRain / Localism

Who knows / remembers HOW to add a city now to ActiveRain and Localism?

Where do you add a city?

I think you have to do it from your Localism account in Localism but it has been awhile since I have done anything on there that, that information could be wrong :(

Maureen,

Thank you for all of the hard work!

Gruene, Texas IS located in Comal county which is 4 miles north of New Braunfels, Texas which is 20 miles north of San Antonio, Texas.   Or 45 minutes from Austin, Texas (which is the capitol city).  Another interesting point about Gruene, Texas is that it proudly holds the OLDEST DANCE HALL IN TEXAS.  Where the most ordered beer is a shiner...  ever heard of Shiner, Texas? (totally off the topic here....ha ha)  alas, that's probably NOT on the Texas map either!

Any who, thanks for the heads up as I will contact Jeremy and see that Gruene is added (as this isn't the first post that I have written for it and posted to localism...city wasn't there so in the past I just choose New Braunfels!)

I'm off to read the other posts that you suggested...thank you, thank you.
