Hollywood played an important part of the moral of the English speaking Allied Countries during WWII. The original motivation was to show the atrocities of the enemy and the rightness of our crusade to protect the free world. These movies went beyond that purpose.
The soldiers they showed were made up of many races, religions, ethnicities across all economic and social classes. These movies had much to do with the societal changes that occurred over the next three decades.
