Dogs Can Remind Us What Life is Meant to Be.

Dogs can remind us what life is meant to be. 

I spent a few days over the weekend dog-sitting for my daughter's family, while they are in Lake Tahoe.  As I watched Scoobie and Violet (a very big and a very small dog) doing their lightening speed "laps" in the big backyard, I laughed as I mused that life is meant to be FUN.    

It was the little dog that outran the big one.  Her legs are shorter, her body smaller, yet she runs like a rabbit... and her best dog friend, Scoobie, is not the least miffed by being outrun every time.  He enjoys the race.  He loves her! 

         People can often get caught up in winning the race.  We need to remember that the FUN is in the chase, whether you're winning or not.  Being a contender (like Marlon Brando wished he was) is a reward in itself.  There are so many who, for whatever reason, are unable to walk, run, chase, or be a contestant in any race.  And there are those who have no time for races, as they are caught up in finding their next morsel of food.    Yes, dogs can remind us what life is meant to be.
