All I did was... suggest the master bedroom be decluttered, buy new lamps and hang a picture.

In this home staging in Mississauga I would like to show Realtors and Homeowners the importance of showing the master bedroom as place to retreat to after a long day at work. In a condo where space is at a premium it is best to market the master bedroom in a cool, sophistacated hotel like appearance. A place where buyers can see themselves living in.

All I did was suggest to the client that they declutter, buy two new lamps and hang a romantic picture above their bed. Total outlay $90.00.

Investment, minimal.

Impact, priceless.

Michelle, funny you should say that. :)

I'm waiting for a foreign student to move in with us for a couple of months, and I wanted to spiffy up the room a little bit, so I bought new curtains, hung a mirror on the wall opposite to the window, bought a new lamp, and hung two photos. A new duvet cover from Ikea finished the job. The room looks amazing. Even I want to move in to it. :)

Sometimes a few little things make a huge difference.

Hi Sylvie, it takes a certain eye to be able to buy a few things and come out with a designer look. That's where I come in. The homeowners did this job on a zero budget. Everything borrowed and some elbow grease thrown in the mix. That's why every Realtor should interview several professional home stagers until they can find one that can be creative. I can stage on a larger budget too, but when the client says they have no budget and your Realtor wants results, it is my job to come up with solutions.

Glad you were able to pull together a look in your own home. With all the homes you see in a day I would imagine that you can cut through to what needs to be done as well.

You were so right! What a difference those items made and on a budget, too. Homeowners don't always understand the importance of making the master bedroom special. It looks like you get the message across!

Michelle - I wish I could find a stager like you in my area. I have talked to several and they certainly don't think along the same lines as you. Instead I get quotes that are hundreds upon hundreds of dollars - hey, I am not changing the whole house decor here! Just need some somple solutions. I love, love, love your blog!

Hi Cathy, always a good idea to make the buyers feel like they are special when they take a look a master bedroom. After all, it is their money they a putting down on this property and they deserve to feel like they have found their special place.

Hi Leesa, thank you for the accolades sent my way. I have that creative eye that can make something from nothing and for a few dollars or for free if the client can borrow some goods from family and friends.I wish we were closer too, I think we could make an awesome team marketing homes for sale.

Great job! That's my favorite kind of staging, the creative kind. I love making the impossible happen! I love the logo, too...do you really drive up to staging jobs hauling your stuff in a convertible?

Hi Sharon, It is always surprizing how much a good clean up can change the feel of a room. Yes I do drive up to my jobs hauling stuff in my Porsche. It is quite the conversation starter! You would be surprized at how much you can fit in a small car once the top goes down.
