What is dadvise?

My kids explained this to me with a gift on Father's Day:

dadvise

So what is the definition?

dadvise

1. The smartest words a kid will ever hear.

2. Could be followed by, "I told you so," but seldom is.

3. Often not appreciated upon first, second, or third hearing.

Thank kids!

Your kids are lucky they have a Dad to compliment or complain about....I miss mine every day...funny how the older you get...the smarter your parents become.

Charles I can totally related. My time has become there time. With baseball and Jr. Golf practices I fine it hard to think about work. Some of that time spent together does relate to now I get it.

What a great mug!  I love it!

When I was a kid I always thought my folks were sooooo dumb.  Sooooo out of touch.  As I grew older ... they became absolute geniuses.  :)  Somewhere we met in the middle.

Glad you had a nice Father's Day!

Morning Charles....so what did you expect, that they inherited your sense of humor should be a given.  Now, are you drinking from it every morning....LOL  Have a great day.

or fourth reading....or fifth reading.... but doesn't it feel great when they finally get "it" and you're not such a moron anymore?  That's when they become really interesting and you can move your relationship to a whole new level!

I love the mug and think it's a great present!  Like everyone else, I wondered if my parents would ever "get it."  I didn't realize until I got older that I was the one who hadn't "gotten it."  Things change if you wait long enough :)

Some times the Dadvice is not appreciated until many years later.

Now that one took a minute to sink in.  At first, I thought it had something to do with vice!

Charles, I am glad your kids remembered your day.  It is hard to think of gifts for Father's Day.  Ad my dad got older, it took a lot of thinking for gifts.  That is one task I wish I still had....but he died in 2000.

Great stuff, I too wish I could go to my dad for advice. He has been gone for over nine years now. It is hard to live up to being the dad visor now. And now I have a teenager. Not sure anything I say for the next several years will be considered advice.
