The first step is to get your website out there through promoting your website through various search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM) techniques.  In addition it is very important to create your presence on other websites that link back to yours (referred to as inbound linking).  It is however, important to be selective regarding the inbound links you choose.

According to Google:

"Links help our crawlers find your site and can give your site greater visibility in our search results. When returning results for a search, Google combines PageRank (our view of a page's importance) with sophisticated text-matching techniques to display pages that are both important and relevant to each search. Google counts the number of votes a page receives as part of its PageRank assessment, interpreting a link from page A to page B as a vote by page A for page B. Votes cast by pages that are themselves "important" weigh more heavily and help to make other pages "important."

A site that I highly recommend utilizing is Americas Relocation Home Services - Link Partners Are FREE while they last!

Real Estate - Other: Meta Tres (Americas Relocation Home Services) - a high quality relocation network connecting buyers and sellers to local realtors - and it can definitely increase your web-presence. Link partners are free - and they are already showing tremendous results for those that sign up:

Look at what it has done for http://www.homesbynorcross.com/ and http://www.christinenorcross.com/ in the organic search results (Christine just signed up last week):

Michael great advice - I saw that you pulled down the previous comments because of a coward named Marty who had to hide behind blank comment - He's probably just jealous, 40 and lives with his mom.

Too funny - but in all seriousness, he made some false acusations and was quite rude.

Smart move Troy - the thing is, that I have been doing website marketing and SEO for years - even before the word SEO was around I was doing it - and I can tell you that this site is going to do very well (how it ranks), and those that get involved will be very happy they did.

Previously I had to delete a comment that someone made about how the site has only been around for 30 days - this is not true - the site has been around for almost a year but on another domain name until it was recently forced to change due to a potential trademark conflict - and on this new domain name - it is already on the first page of Google's organic results as show in the posting example - how incredible is this. Once this site gains momentum - these other networks that show maps of the US on the home page - or are cookie cutters that are basically all the same back end code - they will not do nearly as well as this one regarding ranking - fact.

They are both pretty cool - but I think the along the lines of relocation - the Americas Relocation Home Services site will be a dominating force.  Nice post!

I did sign up...could only afford the freebie at this point. Will they allow for upgrades at a future point?

You see after all of this starts to pay off...I'll be able to upgrade that and my website.

By the way...are you from Plymouth or Weymouth?

I love it down your way...the Cape is great! My folks used to have a place in Hull near where the amusement park used to be.
