Hello Donna and Thank you for setting up this Blog for Jim. Although you don't know me, I know of you. For the last year and a half I have worked with Jim @ AAA Press and more importantly was a friend to him and with him. We worked together after hours on our real estate careers which suffered over the last few years. I am a Mortgage Broker by trade and as you know Jim a Realtor, such as yourself. He confided in me about his experiences out east and had many kind words about you. Working with Jim during the day at our "fill in" job, gave me an opportunity to meet and get to know a good, kind and fair man. A man of principal. A good family man and a man not afraid to voice his opinions. He and I agreed on most everything so that made it easy for us to talk. Since he had so many interests, so many experiences and so many talents, I was always eager to spend time discussing just about anything with him. Most recently I had referred a potential listing prospect with him and of course he kindly returned the favor by referring me to a life long friend of his to see if I could help them with a home purchase. This is when I learned that some folks knew him by the name Peter. He explained to me that Peter was his middle name and it stuck for some reason with a few of his friends. Little did I realize that just a few short days later, Jim (Peter) would be gone.

On my way home from work today, I stopped in at the funeral home to pay my respects to his family and to say farewell to a good friend. My life now has a void in it that will never be filled. Jim came into it with a mission and he was working on completing this mission when God decided to take him from us. Being a believer in God, I know that although we feel cheated losing Jim and Jim had much work left to do here, God will take good care of him and we will have to accept that.

Jim's many interests included Photography, writing, computers, website design, blogs, cars, politics and of course his family. He was one of the proudest Grandpa's I ever met. every chance he had, he would share  photo's of the grandchildren with me proudly telling me what great experience they had and he enjoyed with them at the time of the shot. He loved the photography end of his life and he loved talking and listening to anyone who shared the same interest.

I truly hope many people find this blog and share their thoughts with all on Jim. I am heartbroken and saddened by his passing. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family, especially the grand kids whom he loved, but to all and any who knew him. My prays will be many and God will know how much we all miss the man that he took from us. James Peter Richardson, Rest in Peace my dear friend. May God Bless your soul.

Bill.

Hello Bill

I have a whole in my heart, I will always miss Jim.  While I was crying my eyes out @ 11pm placing his memorial on active rain, funny thing happened.  My phone lit up twice, but no ringing.  I think it was Jim letting me know he was OK.  We will keep his memory alive.

My heart breaks for his family, he always captured life through his camera lens, and shared it with us all.  His grandchildren were #1, and he was so proud of them all.  He helped and taught me soooo much, and I appreciate all of his knowledge that he shared.

A truly classy gentlemen we have lost.  Thank you for being a friend to Jim.

Donna,

"A truly classy gentlemen we have lost"....your words cannot be denied. Jim was a refreshing person for me to meet as he was in fact a gentlemen. I never heard him tell an off color joke, swearing wasn't something that was popular with him either. Even when he was being antagonized by other morons at work, he would simply smirk and shake his head and move on. Jim taught me to look at the situation and if it unsuitable, move on. We lost a man that was much too young to be taken from us. Although I suppose it may be a blessing for Jim as he apparently was more ill than he may have thought. Suffering through a long debilitating illness would not have been something he would have wanted to subject his family and friends to.

You are welcome for thanking me for being a friend to Jim, but it was all my pleasure. I will sorely miss him and forever wonder what could have been had he not been taken so early. God bless you too Donna and I am sorry for your loss. Take care, perhaps someday we will all meet in another life or another place? Peace.

Donna,

This is Janet, Jims youngest daughter, I would like to thank you so much for setting up such a nice memorial page for my father. It is wonderful to see how much impact my father had on his friends. You and Bill have so many wonderful things to say about him. I think this is a great way to keep his memory alive, I am sure we all have had special times with him that we will never forget and always hold in our hearts. When I read these entries I was crying, crying because I was sad he is gone and because I was happy, happy that he had others in his life that cared about him as much as the two of you have shown in these writings. I think we are all blessed to have had such a great man be a part of our lives. So thank you to the both of you for sharing your thoughts.

<3 Always

Hello girls,

Our paths were meant to cross.  Janet, I met you briefly at the house on Briggs Court when your son was months old.

I first met Jim at Re/Max and wondered who the guy was with the nice suits that sat behind me. We quickly became good friends.    Jim was truly genuine, actually helped me out of the kindness of his heart.  He insisted that I have a website and he told me he would help and show me how.  For that I'm so grateful and will never forget the kindness.

We always kept in touch across the miles, frequently e-mailing, sending photos and occasional phone calls.  I still own the Coachmen Trailer that you sold me when you moved back to Illinois and I love it!  My summer home.  We just put on new tires and are getting ready for Maine.  We have kept it up.

Funny thing, I received an offer on a property yesterday, it's going under agreement.  The buyers last name was Richardson.  It's pennies from heaven!

I want to come and visit and see all the kids!  I think Jim would want that.  We will make plans.

XOXO

A GUARDIAN ANGEL PRAYER FOR FRIENDS

Guardian Angel, watch over those whose names you can read in my heart. Guard over them with every care and make their way easy and their labours fruitful. Dry their tears if they weep; sanctify their joys; raise their courage if they weaken; restore their hope if they lose heart, their health if they be ill, truth if they err, repentance if they fail.

I am so happy to have met all of the 4 Figueiredo grandchildren in person during their trip to Massachusetts.

  • Corrine is almost as tall as me, beautiful golden brown locks of hair.  A beautiful young lady!  She was just a toddler when the family lived  in Massachusetts.
  • DJ is absolutly adorable, all the girls are just going to love him!  Erin was pregnant with him when they moved back to IL, I never met this little man.
  • Madison has beautiful brown locks of hair like her older sister.  A very pretty little girl.  All smiles and happy.
  • Emma, 2 yrs,  just cracked me up.  Cute as a button with the same beautiful eyes as her brother DJ.  Her vocabulary is amazing and she keeps up with all the older kids.  A little trooper.

Erin and David have done a great job, what wonderful children they have.  It was a pleasure, now I can look at the photos and really know who they are.  Erin is so strong, totally amazing.  She is a great mother, and I'm sure Jim is so proud of her!

God Bless
