If you don't have time to get to the hardware store... and you simply have to get that darn vent working... don't worry..

you don't have to do any fancy metal working... you don't have to get out the tin snips

just break out that miracle too... DUCT TAPE... and rifle through your wife's closet... (or your own)... find an appropriately sized shoe box...

and VIOLA!!

It'll take years... (okay, maybe only months) for the box to mildew due to air conditioning...

and by then, you may have the heat turned on, and it'll dry out... only to begin the cycle again next summer.

... and then, you can simply go buy a new pair of "jumps", and put in a new box.

the ultimate in recycling, eh?

eh?

eh??

Home is where the hearth is.

Richard, Illinois' ex-secretary of state Paul Powell knew how to properly use shoeboxes.

Well Alan ~ I am not sure this box will hold up for months but it is definitely a clever way to recycle those unwanted shoe boxes!

Duct tape is a wonderful thing!

I keep a roll in the trunk of my car, one in my garage, one in my kitchen, one under my bed...........

How many times has this type of "fix" been used, but covered up with flat black spray paint? The use of flat black spray paint is so under rated.

Craig----it sounds as if you have discovered one of the "recreational" uses for duct tape:)

To add to what Cheryl said, if you can't "see" the difference how can the difference matter?

Craig if you "de-lint" all of your sweaters with it first it doesn't stick to the skin so bad:)

Home is where the hearth is.

Terrie - it is a very creative use.

Charles - oh cwap... I've been found out

Craig - duct tape is the miracle tool... good for so many uses... and it has a funny name (Duck Tape?)

Cheryl - how about aluminum spray??? hmmmm?

Charles - craig has found lots of things that have 'recreational' uses... after all, he's a serious dead-head.

Craig - I don't see Yoda here

Charles - funny thing... I have actually used Duct tape for de-linting LOL!

You must give the guy (yes I'm pretty sure it was a guy) credit because he "just did it".

I agree with the spray paint fix and I'll never look at duct tape the same way ever again.

Houston, we have a problem....  I'll bet they came up with the idea for this very clever fix after watching Apollo 13!
