My mind just does not think that way.

I would never even consider having an extra marital affair. Outside of the moral dilemma, I just don’t think I could be resourceful to pull it off.

I am not an elected official of anything, much less the governor of a state. How could someone in a position like that think they could leave the country and not be caught. I could not even make it to a Motel 6 in Dallas, or somewhere in Texas without getting caught. How could I ever make it to a different country, and then explain my disappearance to the media?

He wasn't thinking!

But, he was also caught 5 months ago, and his wife told him to leave 2 weeks ago. He left just like she asked him to do.

Why he thought he could leave the country without the rest of his office knowing, since he's Governor, I have no idea!

Yeah, I agree with Donna... He wasn't thinking at all. He had to know at some point there was hell to pay when he returned.

Hi Richard... Clearly he was thinking "What can I do to destroy my political career?"

This guy is a complete dolt. How on earth can you be so blatant about your affair and expect not to get caught?? I think its safe to say his political career is over, forget about the marriage, that ship has sailed.

He was thinking of the best way to embarrass his state and give the Republican party another black eye.

I love these stories because they regularly reinforce what my wise old grandmother taught me: "Those who bark the loudest are the bad dogs." What I find funny, though, is that it is always the holier-than-thou people wanting to control my life when they are being so hypocritical in their own lives -- Sanford, Ensign, Craig, and the list goes on and on.

I am with Russel in that most often it is the holier-than-thou, those who bark the loudest.  The gaul some people have is amazing. At the end of the day you answer to yourself. Self-respect and decency seem rare these days.
