A Funny Thing Happened On The Way Out To Dinner

By
Real Estate Agent with I.V.P.G. - Inland Valley Professional Group

Hi All,

It happened... finally it happened... I saw, actually I caught my husband in the act.  I was shocked.  I wondered if it was my fault.  Did I push him into it?  Or would it have happened even without me.  Who can say... perhaps it was destiny.  Perhaps it was fate... Perhaps it was something else entirely.  But today, when I least expected it, I walked into my husband's office and discovered him in the middle of... BLOGGING!

Oh, he didn't want to admit to it, in fact he was pretty adamant that he was not blogging only "posting" to a site that he wrote things on "sometimes".  Suddenly, I was on the other end of the blogging spectrum.  The end of the spectator.  I was waiting until he finished one more thing.  Now I was waiting to get dinner while he made one more pass before he clicked send.  I was the one tapping my foot and listening to my stomach growl.  And I was the one who was saying, in all seriousness "are you almost done"?

I noted the irony of the situation.  And as he finished what he was writing I thought to myself, gee, I hope nobody decides to start a Project Blogger for HAM's because I don't think there would be room or bandwidth enough in this house for both of us.

Take care all, help lots of people and have a wonderful day!

Tisza

That is way too funny! Especially the DENIAL part. Maybe he should look into Blogaholics Anonymous! LOL

LOL... I can tell you for a fact that a house with two bloggers is crazy. Add 6 kids and well... that's a whole other story. My wife started blogging long before me and she now keeps three blogs running with almost daily posts on each. At night, we are often communicating via instant message within the same house... she on her computer, me on mine. You are seriously in trouble now.

Tisza, perhaps you and your husband are enabling each other.  Have you considered a family intervention?  :o)

Tisza -- I know couples who seem to quite successfully share and communicate with each other by writing and commenting on one another's blogs.    Hey, it works for them!

Go read whatever he wrote, leave some witty comment ... you guys could fall in love all over again!

I've seen the phenomenon spread through a household before, too.  It is a great creative outlet for people and when they find out how easy and fun it is, they're hooked.

That's hilarious!  If that ever happened in my house I would have to watch out for flying pigs also!  :)  Don't think it would...

Now maybe you won't get asked so much if you are almost done.

Great post!  My family is still looking at me funny when I blog, as if I am from a different planet or something when I talk about it.  AS IF! :)

Tisza that is VERY funny. Now that's where Mel and Jim will be different - Jim does listserves and message boards, but not chat rooms and certainly not blogging. He just isn't sure about the whole concept. But I'm sure if he DID, I would be as amused as you are with Mel.

Thanks for sharing. Loved your lead-in!

Tisza love your humor. My hubby used to tease me about staying in chat rooms and posting areas. Now he is alomot a true blogger.

Keep'em coming.

Hi All,

Boy if I was smart, I would start responding to each of you individually.  Think of the points I could rack up LOL.

Steve - Yes, I noted the denial as well.  I won't worry about him until I discover that he is hiding his computer in the shadows... You know what they say, until they are willing to help themselves you can't help them.  Oh, and congrats on your featured post!  Way to go Blogaholic!

Jeff - What a great idea!  That's what I should do, IM him!  I have been known to call him from the living room using my cell.  The house is 1100 SF BTW and he is in the next room over, and I have even tried tying messages to the cat.  Makes a great billboard but a lousy messenger, so I don't recommend it just FYI.  Good heavens six kids several blogs and a business, your Meez shouldn't be sitting on a beach, he should be lying on one that may be the only relaxation you can get.  Even if it is only your alter ego that gets to enjoy it:-)

Brian - Yes, I think that might be a good idea.  I will get ahold of the boys on Myspace, send Mel an email and see if we can get Dr. Phil on a Podcast :-)

Cheryl - It is great to hear from you.  Mel and I actually found each other initially by writing to each other on the Internet.  I would consider weighing in on what he is writing, but I don't actually speak fluent HAM radio, just sort of a pidgen version, basically the dialect that I have been able to pick up on the streets:-)  And fortunately for us, we don't need to fall in love again as we have never fallen out of it.

Chris - Yes, it seems to spread faster than wildfire.  And you are quite right.  It is an amazing creative outlet!

Ray - Yes, we can hope :-)

Doug - It does your heart good when you do catch them doesn't it?  I know I was thrilled beyond belief :-)

Stephanie - Around here pigs fly frequently, we have also see the world come to an end and He@@ freeze over so I would watch around your home, it may be happening where and when you least expect it.  And yes, maybe he will now have to understand and not keep asking "are you almost done" but I doubt it :-)

Cynthia - I am glad I go share a smile!

janeAnne - Glad to provide.  I tend to live by the rule that everything is OK as long as it's funny.

Eveline - Well for goodness sakes don't tell them when the mother ship is arriving or they will all want to come :-)  I think we are from another planet the planet AR in the galaxy known as the Blogosphere. Gort, Klatu Barada Nicto - That's probably not the right thing to say, but I want you to know you are welcome :-)

Kelli - I will work on that and see what I can do :-)

Mary - Mel does list serves as well and is frequently telling me that he got something "off the reflector".  Actually, I figured it was only a matter of time as he is also a writer at heart.  I actually fell in love with him partly because of his writing.  I will look forward to seeing them meet.  This should be fun as Mel would be very interested in the Meridian location :-)

Shirley - I am so glad you enjoyed this post.  Don't tell anyone, but I like writing the humorous ones almost most of all... Shh, it will just be our secret, OK?

Take care all, help lots of people and have a wonderful day!

Hi All,

Anthony - Do you want to hear something scary?  In my case, there is really not that much difference.  How I am here and how I communicate are pretty much one in the same in the blog or out of it.  Oh, and I already have a small laptop, a trusty wireless card and a big bag to carry them all in.  And yes, they go everywhere with me even to the beach :-)

ARDELL - Guilty? Why ever would I feel guilty?  It's not like I am on the computer all hours of the day and night, typing until I have literally worn some of the letters off of my keypad, natter incessently about AR this, ARDELL that, or Blog the other, can't go more than a couple of hours without checking to see what has happened in my absence or... Hmmm, perhaps I see what you mean... Blog on baby! Blog on!

Take care all, help lots of people and have a wonderful day!

Hi Sally,

My Mel's not much of a gamer, but he has been known to spend hours surfing eBay (yet another thing that I introduced him to).  Man, I don't know what he did with himself before I came along, but he sure did have a lot more free time :-)  Thanks for stopping by.

Take care,

Tisza
