Those that know me well, have heard me say; "Life is short, eat dessert first."

After returning to Southern Oregon from a typical "mini" trip to LA to visit my grand-baby this past week, I was in shock to see a huge Penske moving truck flipped over on it's side with the cab completely crushed.  The contents of the truck (furniture, etc.) were spilled over Interstate 5.  It appeared that no one could have survived the crash.

Today's news of Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson's death was truly shocking as well.  I started to think how short life really is.  A prevailing question entered my mind; "Have I made good use of my time and energies on this earth?"  I certainly hope so.  I know life is too short to live with regret.

The moral of this story... it's important to forgive those who have wronged you.  And let go of the things you can't control.  Tell the people you care about that you love them.  Say you are sorry, and smile more.  Live every day as if it were your last, and make it count for something.  And eat dessert first!  I know if my mother were still alive, we would be enjoying some warm chocolate pudding right now, or maybe some magic cookie bars fresh out of the oven.  She really loved life and dessert.  Here's to you Mom :)

When you are on your death bed is not the time to realize you wish you had lived a different life, took more chances, ate more chocolate, etc etc. Do as much good as you can and try to live every day like it is your last.

Melinda,

I had a short visit to a local hospital.  When I arrived at the emergency room, I had no idea if I would be leaving to go back home.  Happy to say, that yes, in three days I was discharged.  The entire time that I was there, I just kept praying to have more time with my family.  You are so right.  Enjoy the days that do have. On our Buffini Community Site, Home Page, there is a very good poem that was posted this morning, about this.  It is a lovely, yet, true poem.  I will try to post it here, on the rain.

It's a Good Life,

Fran

Melinda: Amen to that... It's important to forgive everyone, if not then in the end you're the one that carries the burden. Let it go, laugh, and enjoy... it's contagious.
