9 Comments on Texting is more dangerous than drinking
I recently had somebody trying to explain to me how it is safe to text if your phone has a keyboard because you can feel it and can keep your eyes on the road. Yeah RIGHT!
When I upgraded to the iPhone last week some nerdy dude was helping me understand it. The only difference between the crackberry and this phone is that it is a little difficult to text on the iPhone. When I told him how upset I was going to be that I can no longer text and drive (dramatically of course!) his jaw dropping to the ground was priceless, LOL!
I don't text n drive anymore!
Larry: This is pretty interesting I must say.. I would never have thought these numers...
Thanks for commenting on my texting and driving post.
Larry - I never would have thought that texting was more dangerous than driving drunk. I still believe no drinking or texting while driving is for me.
Mike - she was right (I'm sure is was a she), it is easier to type on a blackberry than an I-phone without looking. Unfortunately, you can't read what was sent to you without looking at the screen.
Renee - Congrats on upgrading to an Iphone. I love mine. By the way, they come in really handy when you have some unexpected quiet time. I have classical and jazz music loaded on mine, and you can play the ipod without headphones. it's great in an open house.
Robert - right on. I think the point was that texting is very dangerous. Drinking and driving are dangerous, but here in tennessee, they have gone off the deep end. 2 glasses of wine may land you in jail even though you could drive home every time and never have a problem. They have been lowering the limit until it's almost imposible to pass. You can thank MADD for that. It's just another way to make money for the local government.
I think it's abusive, and I don't even drink.
It is amazing how many poeple I see texting while I'm driving. The other thing is with all these new phones, you almost have to text to dial the number. How many of us really know someone's number. Don't we all have to scroll through and find it. Maybe voice interactive....talk and let the phone dial or text. Oh, that's right then we get back to the can't drive and talk at the same time problem. Up North you can not talk, text on your cell phone. You have to be blue tooth or ear piece, and only in one ear. If they find you...fine is in the 100s.
I am going to have to stop texting while driving:)
