My Mom the Lottery Winner!

I spoke with my Mom about two weeks ago.  It was early afternoon and I was checking in from the road.    She had been to the dentist and was depressed over the scope of work she was told she needed, and the dollar amount that came with it.  $4,000.  At the time, I didn't have time to hear the details and told her I'd call later that night from home when I could give her my full attention.

She called that evening and was beside herself.  She had purchased a Virginia Lottery Scratch-Off Ticket after her appointment when she stopped by the grocery store.   She had forgotten all about the ticket in her dental depression that afternoon.  But as she sat watching evening television she remembered she had it and scracthed it off.

Mom revealed a $5,000 winner!

It's cute to hear the story.  She lives in a condo buliding and took the ticket to two of her neighbors to verify what she thought she was seeing.  I can picture her running up and down the hall with the ticket.  Then she hot footed back to her phone to call me.

Funny how things work.  This covers her dental work and then some.

Chris Ann, now if your Mom's story doesn't provide evidence of the ying and yang of the universe nothing else does. Good for her with that terrific fortune.

Gary:  I'm really pleased for her.  It was a fun day when we went to cash her ticket.  Never got to see such a big winning ticket in person.  Should have snapped a photo of that.

Now that's pretty cool if I do say so myself. I never play the lottery, but maybe I need to pick up a few tickets. Take care!

JL:  Found out that a Million Dollar scratch-off had been sold across the street from my office.  Still, the most I've won in a Scratch-Off game is $20.

Liz:  I see the resemblance to my Mom too.  When my Dad was alive everyone said I looked like him.  I'm probably a good mixture of the two of them.

I'm so happy for your mom!  I won the lottery last week too!  My win was only $40 though!  Since most of it will be spent on a dental bill, she should spend the rest on something really special!

I remember you telling me about this.  What a blessing for your Mom.  I should buy a scratch off ticket or two next time I'm in the store.

I always buy scratch offs.  Even if you lose, it's still fun to scratch the ticket.
