Tennessee will join the ranks of of 9 other states that will have such a ban. Gov. Phil Bredesen signed he bill into law on May 15, 2009. If you are cought texting or reading a text while driving (vehicle in motion) you will recieve a $50 fine. Law enforcement and emergency personel are exempt if they are performing their official duties. ( I guess the text is faster than their two way radio )
Other states that have a ban on texting and driving are Alaska, California, Connecut, Louisiana, Minnesota, New Jersey, Utah and Washington and the Distric of Columbia. On July 1,2009 Tennessee and Virginia will join the growing list.
This is going to be interesting if you use your ohone for GPS or even a Realtor looking at homes on the MLS. Guess you will need to stop your vehicle before viewing your phone.
