OK - The reason I am posting this is because I am tired of hearing Todd you need to lose some weight. Yes I have gained a few pounds in the last couple of years and YES, I do really enjoy a really good meal at a very nice restaurant with my wife.

The Gym

Let me tell you a few things first about why I have decided to post this here. I want everyone to know we do have options. My wife is a really good baker and loves to bake cookies and brownies and being the good husband I am, I have to test them for her to make sure she doesn't poison anyone else in the neighborhood. I also like to help her feel good about herself and I wouldn't want to make her think I don't enjoy her cooking.

Remember a way to a man's heart is through his stomach. Real Estate takes a lot of time and in the past I have realized that working out takes a lot of time and energy and sometimes I just don't have that amount of time to work out. I used to be a runner and ran 20 miles a day - Yes you read that correctly 20 miles a day. That was in a galaxy far far away though.

So to stop the conversations cold about me needing to lose the weight! I know the answer. I am on my way to the gym right now. By the way, for all of you who are reading this, and I sure hope it isn't anyone I know, I have now decided to name my couch gym!

Very good husband. Anyway, a good reason to go to the gym is to be able to eat after.

Gosh Todd, I don't think (in fact I hope not) that that is the same gym my daughter in Beaverton joined recently.

Todd:

I have discovered a great way to use your couch AND do exercises.  Sit on your couch and open a beer.

Raise the bottle and take a sip.  Return the bottle to your waist.  Raise the bottle and take another sip and return to your waist.  Repeat until the bottle is empty.

With each sip, the bottle will have less weight in it than before.  I call this exercise descending reps.

Give it a try...

Thanks Steven I think I will go get a drink right now! Cleavland is ahead by 2 with 2 minutes left in the third. Seems like a good time to excercise. - ROFL

Todd,

I have a great 18 minute work out that I do when I have 18 spare minutes. You can find good mini workouts on the net. Some you can even do in your suit. My favorite is clenching your bum cheeks while your sit in your seat typing blogs!

Hey todd!

I have a good idea, think yourself slim! I have some friends that saw the movie the secret - and after seeing the movie, they decided to think themselves slim!

The amazing part is that it actually worked!

Todd

That is a nice story of how you help your wife and naming your couch, from the looks of it you still a young man start to loose weight now before you get to old, I am sure your wife appreciates you tasting her baking but I am sure she would rather have you around for a long time and grow old together and lead healthy lives together.

Todd -- Very funny!  Thanks for the laugh.  After today's Race for the Cure, I could really enjoy a gym right now myself!  BTW, your lovely wife would probably not be all that offended!  :0  Have a great week!

Naoma - That was my second choice. But, I felt I didn't want to spend to much time in there.

Gary - I'm afraid to ask her what she would rather have. I might not get the answer I want, she may just tell me to have a brownie.

Sarah - Good for you running for such a good cause. I will admit I got burnt out on running when I was younger. I used to run 20 miles a day competitively and just got burnt out on working out at all!
