I had to retrace my steps as to why I crossed slightly unfamiliar territory within a business context this morning. Mondays and Saturday mornings are the two busiest phone days in my office. While on one line, a call came through and as it reached voice mail they hung up. So I called them back via caller ID within two minutes, and left a message. Hopefully, I wish they will call back. Be careful what you wish for.

About an hour later, the phone rings again, and while picking up between the first and second ring, the caller hangs up.  It is the same number where I left the message, wishing.  I call back with no agenda in mind, except to be of service. Well...This woman with a rather captivating foreign accent that I can not place, starts to tell me why she doesn't leave messages and it wastes her time, and some companies, on and on. I explained, almost sheepishly, that I was on the other line and was happy to have the opportunity to call her back.

She goes back to the same story about some companies, this and that. As she gets angrier and angrier her voice gets a little deeper and her breathing gets a little louder and her captivating accent becomes a little intoxicating.  I am a straight woman, but I know sexy when I see or hear sexy. So I just tell her firmly that if she doesn't want to leave a message, don't, but...then she yells ~  F*** You ~ ever so breathlessly.

I was at a loss for words, but somehow quickly stated "You are missing a golden opportunity, you would make a dynamite dominatrix" and she hung up. Another one who missed her calling, not living up to her potential.

Why would I say such a thing to someone  I ask you?  Especially in the morning hours? Because I saw that damn avatar due to a group email this morning and went to the post by TLW. And that ever present avatar. There is no other explanation, I assure you...

Oh, Carolyn, I have had to reword my response, several times, as each time it sounds rather inappropriate, ie:

"Oh, Carolyn, please be gentle, I am not familiar with this sort of thing"  ~ or

"Come on Carolyn this sort of thing never happens to me, it was just a one time deal and I lost my head" ~ or

"Do with it what you will, I will just sit back and watch"  ~or

" I have been a member of the club for just one week, I know it was invitation only, and I came knocking on the door asking to get in, but I was not prepared to go upstairs..." ~ or

Here is my favorite - "I don't know, I'm really shy."

Needless to say, I have no resonable response to offer...but to date, I have no food photos ready, no "event photos" no photos in general to offer regarding this post...at least that I would show. Just kidding, Carolyn

Seriously, I will be in and out today, I have to drop off a few things to some clients. So I will be keeping my eye on you Carolyn.

LOL @ Michelle. You think you had to amend your responses? You should see the drafts I'm cooking up (LMAO). I'm actually sketching a few pen and inks I think will go lovely here. We're going to have some fun on your post tonight and it will be illustrated with a few new original cartoons. It's been a while since I threw a triple party and the Cartoon Network could use some new Tann-Starr drawings (LOL).

Here's one of my pen and inks from the gallery to tease you with regarding what type of illustrations you may be getting off and on later tonight. I am really good at being naughty and I draw what I see so it's only fair to warn you that the cartoons in my head are having a field day with your post.

Betcha didn't see that one coming, eh? I'm going to love playing with you. We're going to be great friends.  Send me a friend invitation on Facebook so i can check you out. Will I be doing an interesting fantasy  portrait? Maybe...

I'll be gentle... I promise. BTW, my Granny reads my blog. She's kinda feisty, soooooo... (I am giggling my a$$ off over here) See ya later, lovely... ;-)

Wow, Carolyn, you are a seriously talented artist.  I love the one behind your avatar as well. And I would be remiss not to remark that "Luke" is quite the model, I'm sure. ~ Nothing luke-warm about him. Have to check your website out when I return.  Have not kept my Facebook profile up to date or anything, I will update this week, as I have been urged to do so several times by my highly fluent social media friends.  I will send you one on Linkedin as well. Am sure you hear it all the time, but it is amazing and wonderful to have run into you. You are devious but in a lovely sort of way.

Thank you, Michelle. That is quite a compliment (LOL). I think the outlet of social media has given me a remarkable set of wonderful friends to play with, not to mention a virtual place to hone my quirky artistic habits. I love being an artist. I love making new friends. I love being able to share my passions with people who can appreciate the same things that I do. I also love learning something new every single day because it inspires me to create all kinds of stuff. Music, Art, Graphics... I do a lot with the kids while I am working, so the little minion make life just as interesting, if not more so, and appear to be taking after Mama. They paint and draw on the walls (LOL). They are killing my canvas as well. I gotta watch my short dudes. My kids are crazy (LOL).

The gallery shows are always fun because I get to bring everyone together. The models are all regular mom and dads, their kids and relatives, my buddies from where ever I meet them at all walks of life. I put so many of my friends in the Gallery Guide and Art News people think they are professional models and are shocked to discover we're just playing around having a good time spoofing and being creative. I got a few of them modeling jobs just by publishing their portraits.

I have a new model that I am craving to paint in the worst way. She is gorgeous inside and out. Double masters degree. Kind. Humble. Speaks three languages and is mad funny too. I love hanging around people who are smarter than I am. We have great conversations. :-)

I really am addicted to eye candy and crave exploring beautiful places, people and things every single day. I have two books in the works about my predilection for collecting and creating eye candy and some serious (but devious and fun???)  plans for AR (LOL). I love this place. Been working really hard on some animations and illustrations for the AR Cartoon Network group created so I can dump the bulk of my new artwork in it and have some fun releasing behind the scenes stuff very few people ever see unless they are really close to me.

My next show will be an ActiveRain get together in Manhattan down in SoHo. I have people pledging to fly in from all over, so I am really working my butt off to get 'er done. I've been invited to show in London and Paris as well. I turned down the last three but I just might take them up on it now that hubby is retired. Never did before, but AR gave me wanderlust... Besides, I now have blogging buddy friends in Europe. How could I not go when they can pick my hotel rooms for me and show me where to eat and shop? (LOL)

Carolyn ~ you are exceedingly brilliant, there is no doubt about it. With the tiny exception of not showing internationally.  If you don't do it this time, I will have to call back that woman with the captivating accent and she can possibly whip you into shape to do so, I'm sure. Yes, I did write down her number.

All kidding aside, it would be a priceless passage for you, your children, your art, your intense vision, to show in other countries.  I am not saying this to boast, but I have visited and spent extended time in over 50 countries, and what I have brought back from each of them is more precious than what I ever studied or pursued in a formal fashion. It seems like a lifetime ago, at this moment. But what I have learned from each trip is there is so much more to learn, so little I do know on the grand scale, and in some cases, so little time to find out. What I take with me are the indelible arrows pointing to the next destination, the wanderlust, whether I travel 5 miles or 500,000. There is a vast difference between being worldly and being well traveled, you know, very few of us are both.

I am running around with clients and peeking in between appointments. I bet we are going to have some very interesting conversations in virtual life and reality. Looking forward to it. I want to hear more about your travels. I am very intrigued... Do tell us more... Don't forget the eye candy if you have it. I have an addiction and must be fed lots and lots of eye candy. ;-)

Roland, I know. I have been sketching on parchment paper all night cracking jokes with the cartoons in my head. I am soooo in love with the idea of teasing this poor child (LMAO). I plan on spending late night hanging out on this post and peeking in on our birthday buddies. I can't believe my group e-mail is in cyber-hell. Who knows when they will show up. I sent two invites with four links on 'em and have been watching for them all night. There are 58 members of Club Chaos playing on-line with me in Facebook right now so we may still get to play yet (LOL). Besides, there's always tomorrow. ;-)

Back to my illustrations. I may have to name them The Viggiano Collection. ;-)

I have been sketching all day. Pen and Ink, Watercolor, Graphite... I tossed quite a few of these away (LOL). This one amused me because it is not quite right. That made it perfect for our conversation because I have no intention of behaving. I did promise to be gentle so I switched to pencil on parchment because it comes across as very unfinished and soft when I start drafting cartoons. Unfinished and soft, just like our conversation. I wonder where my pencil will take us today. I dare say my sketchpad has quite a lot to say. What we say next determines where my pencil goes... As for this sketch, if I had to illustrate your caller for our book, this would be my choice of who you'd get to play with. I dare you to ask me why. The answer would require another page... ;-)

OMG - they will be pissed if we take it out of the public domain now. We're getting hits on this puppy. There are bets being made about what people are going to say, especially you. They are thrilled to be in on the shenanigans. Haaaaaaa!

Walk the line Mama. Figure out how to say what you're going to say. I have been biting my tongue for two days laughing. I am biting at the bit to release the fourth page...

Carolyn - Good morning - First of all, gorgeous picture, so very talented,I wish that were me instead of that frustrating caller....I checked in last night  after I saw your group email was not working then checked back a little later, saw it was still not a go, then went out to help a friend with a project. A design project., that did not wrap up until way late.  By the way, I lent a close friend of mine,  my cell phone as he dropped his in my pool, due to my dog being a little rude. If you call him and he answers, you might not understand his heavy accent.  Another one with a captivating accent, missing their calling, not living up their potential either, if you know what I mean. I will call you from my office phone.

LTW - whose fault this is by the way....and you know it.  I posted beyond members only, I just posted to this group! But Carolyn can do as she wishes with it as she has put a lot of time into her beautifully crafted shenanigans...

Michelle, it was your beautifully crafted shenanigans that got me started in the first place. Dontcha' just love The Lovely Wife? I do...She's a huge influence on me and the Club Chaos bay-bays.

I would love to add you to the pages of my sketch pad and insist you populate Facebook with some head shots. (Oh horror!)

The first person who makes an off colored remark about that statement gets virtually slapped! Seriously! If you are close enough for me to drive by I will drive over there to spank you! Do I own a whip? Do you want to find out? I'm artistic. Artists always leave their mark on their environment... ;-)

But I digress... (LOL)

I need to study your features so I can play with your portrait. It's time for you to join the lovely cartoons playing in my head. You will discover I am a very quick study and may really surprise you. Truth is, I can't wait to draw you and wonder why I am sooo into playing this game. The next time I post it will be about how I feel regarding intellectually drop dead gorgeous women in control. The parchment is waiting for a very neat treat to unfold because you should be there...I want to edit my drawings...

I want you there... I insist. I can be very persuasive. You have caught me being very creative and I am always playful when I start creating artwork. This will be fun. It's only fitting you post us some photographs. It's our book. How can you not be illustrated as the story unfolds... Besides, my friends really want to see you because they know exactly what I am capable of. The fun of blogging sketch by sketch is watching you discover what it's like to be a muse of a quirky artist. You will make the Fall Gallery show in Soho, so get ready for Art News among other things. ;-)

BTW, I bet you get a few new friend requests by the time we are done creating your collection (LMAO). I may also have to suggest several very interesting Facebook buddies of my own... They would love to meet you in more ways than one. We love your blog. Keep 'em coming and feel free to write what ever you want  (LOL). I enjoyed talking to you and you should expect another phone call... I've already created another drawing that needs to materialize into the world. Every time we speak I draft a new portrait.

My friends have a question for you: Can I put you on speaker phone? (ROTFLMAO) :-0

Carolyn- you are an artist of staggeringly, immense talent. You are rather incredible as you appear to have no medium that escapes your brilliant touch.  But you know, truth be told, I have such a quiet existence here on AR that it is a little surreal to see an extra large photo of myself in a comment section and then a huge beautiful sketch, I feel a little shy. Really. I have some photos packed away, I will try to get at them, as I have been remodeling on and off. Mainly off.  I actually try to stay out of the camera's way! Gorgeous, gorgeous sketch, my neighbor came by and saw all this asked what the hell are you doing, trying to get a date or something? If she only knew. She is 75 has been a dancer all her life, and still goes swing dancing at the clubs in Phoenix, can you imagine?  But taking a photo of me for this, no maam, she can't do.  PS, how did you do that so quickly, and am I really that cross eyed and have refused to acknowlege it all these years? God what else am I to uncover...Just joking with you Carolyn.

Marney- it began as a little curious business commentary that had no home, yet I did know its origin!! Now, if that caller only knew this was all due to her.  The funny thing to me is on the caller ID her first name is "Merri". If only she would have a"Y" instead of the "i" it would be perfect.

ROTFLMAO @ Michelle's neighbor. OMG - that is flipping high-lar-i-ous!!! Trying to get a date? Haaaaaaaa! I'm 44, straight, married with minions living across the damn country. WTF??? Tell her I don't swing that way (LMAO). Oh my word... I know I was dancing on the line but damn (ROTFL). I am crying over here... Too funny! Wait until Mikey hears about this. OMG - my Granny reads my blog. My whole family is gonna know before sundown. Wonder if my sister Michelle will eventually show up. She registered for AR a long time ago. Made one comment about the kids and never spoke again. Think we can get her speaking??? Oooooo... This could get interesting. She knows everything about me. I mean EVERYTHING (LOL).

Marney, this is so much fun... I like my quirky personality but it appears I have to be careful with the swanky 75 year old next door. We need to tread lightly. Gotta respect my elders. ;-)

TLW, thank you Mama. You are the Queen of Originality and I have to live up to the motto of always being original and true. You taught your bay-bays well. BTW, I'm playing with a cool thought about you and that whip. We have to talk later on. I'll call you when I am done running back and forth... I think we should whip up a nice illustration with BB. After all, you are our inspiration. ;-)

Thank you, Rebecca! :-)

Michelle, you need to send me a picture of your neighber. Seriously. She definitely belongs in our book (ROTFLMAO). After a crack like that I am sooooo gonna illustrate this chicka. Her I want to meet! Tell her I said so! She can call me! Anytime, but not for a date. I only date the hubby and the wee people. Haaaaaaa! I like your neighbor. She's funny. Maybe I can get the two of you to pose for me... Hmm... Now there's a thought we need to explore down the rabbit hole... (LOL) ;-)

Evidently, the pages of this project have just grown by a few more conversations.

Time to get back to the cartoons in my head and play the flaky artist. Now, where were we... oh yeah: I was oogling your eyes and saying I wanted more photographs (LMAO). I have a fantasy portrait to create, damn it! We must keep our readers guessing what road our portfolio is going to go down. It can go just about anywhere because I'm that kinda gal (LOL).

I can't wait to upload page four, but we may have to move the order of a few pages around so we can add your neighbor. Make sure you tell her I want her... (Heheheeee)

Yes. It's true. I am sooooo easily amused (ROTFLMAO).

Michelle, I was mezmerized by your recount of that incident!  I get solicitation calls that hang up, then call back and hang up, and call back and hang up.  One day I got to the phone on the first half ring and there actually was someone on the other line, trying to sell me something.  When I told the "gentleman" to take me off their call list, he told me to go F myself.  Of course the caller ID number is never the number you can call back on.  BUT they haven't called back.
