I just finished writting a post about the shaq trade and how I hope it will work out.

Shaq on the CAVS

Now I want to talk about how the old cavs were working as a model. First is Z their center would be able to move out of the lane and has a good jump shot. Second would be the spread out of Mo Williams being able to shoot 3 pointers, the third would be Delonte West which can have a good long range jump shot too. Fourth would be Anderson Varejao he could move out of the land to allow lebron to move in for a dunk at any point in time and Varejao could rebound and move quickly to regroup in the lane for the rebound.

All of the parts will work the same delonte,mo with the spread out model and Varejao but the main part that will be what everyone is watching for is Shaq if he moves in the lane will that take away the dunks that everyone has grown to love in Cleveland with Shaq clogging the lane there would be a double team most times working on Shaq so that will keep everyone in the lane with there being no respect for shaq being able to shot a jump shot at all. It will be interesting to see how Mike Brown does he will be the most important part of the CAVS this coming year how to draw a new plan and will it work to move Shaq to one side and allow lebron to drive from the other corner in?

Brandon:  This is all great, but one of the most important needs of the Cavs is for Mo Williams to return to the form he had during the season.  During the playoffs... he simply "froze."  Obviously he was not used to the pressure of the playoffs... and freezing is understandable.  Perhaps this past playoff season, and the experience he gained, will help him regain his confidence in the coming year.

Also... I am hoping that Shaq will provide some experienced leadership.  Hopefully no more nonsense before the start of each game.  Sure... that silliness of pretending to be "posing for pictures" was fun to watch at first... but the Cavs need to realize that, although that they want to have fun, the NBA is a war.

This year... put away the high school stuff.  They need to get serious.

Yeah, Shaq is going to have to swallow his pride and improve his defense.  If he truly wants to help the Cavs his role should be that of rebounder and a big body in the middle on D.  If he can handle that role, and his ego can handle only averaging about 10 points a game, then the Cavs will have success with him in their lineup.  If he still feels he needs to be the center of the offense, then the Cavs are in trouble. With the Magic strengthenening themselves with Vince Carter and Kevin Garnett coming back full strength for the Celtics the Eastern Conference is going to be tough.  And that doesn't even take into account that the Lakers aren't losing anyone, with the core of their team in their prime.  Best of luck to the Cavs and you.

Karen to the point of the non-sense whatever works dont fix it. They goofed around and had fun all the way to the most wins in the NBA they quite doing it later in the playoffs and we know how that turned out and getting Shaq he is all serious on the court and will lead and be a leader but off the court count on a pre game play.

thanks for the comment

Thanks jerry you do have a point Shaq is there for the defense point but he can also be used as just being on the court and you have to be aware of where he is at all times because you want him to be a scoring threat which he always will be at least for a few years to come. I think Shaq is ready to do what he has to a ring is what he is after that was all this move was for him. This is the first time he moved to a small market but if he plays a couple years there and Lebron stays it wont be a  small market for long.
