About the Show

TLC throws their hat in the ring with thier new show "Staging Invasion".  It airs on Tuesday evening's at 8/7c.  It is a half- hour show that will take the viewer through a transformation of a complete staging in 8 hours.  They will be using the owners furnishings but will use the talent of a massive amount of stagers to redesign, patch, paint and make the home ready for buyers, appealing to a broad market.

They will do all of this for $1000.  That of course is taking into consideration that all labor is free, and the only thing of cost is the actual supplies.  I'm not sure, maybe those are donated, I'll have to watch to see.

I hope viewers are not mislead into thinking they can get the same effects for $1000 total.  Let's hope TLC will make that distinction.

Watch Lisa Lynch discuss the FAQs of staging in an exclusive video Q&A.

Thanks for the time/date of this show. I'll have to record it. Hope it is a good show!

I just watched the Stager Invasion for the first time this week.  While the "team" did a great job staging the featured homes using what the homeowner already had, I feel that this is another misrepresentation of what most staging companies are in reality.

The fact that there is a "team" of about a dozen people isn't realisitic....at least not in my part of the country.  Its me and one assistant!  I admit it would be great to have several people on the payroll to do all the nitty gritty work like packing, moving extra items to the garage, patching and painting, removing worn carpeting, installing new hardwood floors, etc., but how on earth would I pay them all?  Maybe I'm not a mathematician, but a $1000 budget, a dozen assistants, a few new accessories, paint, flooring, etc......hhmmmm, it does not compute!

The concept is great...but I'm hopeful that homeowners will realize that $1,000 doesn't get a team of stagers, a truckload of material and supplies, and an 8 hours staging job in the "real" world.

The thought of having a team do a makeover staging in one day does sound very realistic to me.  I will wait and see the show on Tivo. Thanks for the preview.

I agree Teresa. I also think that its a misrepresentation on how we would go thru the house and talk to the home owners about the issues. She is brutal! and frankly insulting. I wont be watching this show.

Cindy, I watched my recorded copy tonight for the first time. I was impressed with the transformation but noticed that they only showed the amount of money spent on materials. This always misleads the public on the cost of staging. (And most stagers do not have the "team" that is on this show) I can refer my clients to these "team" members. Still not quite the real world of staging.  But over all I feel it does help to educate the public on staging!

BTW I did notice that when the "team" was getting ready for this job they said "READY SET STAGE"

LOL  (Couldn't help but to hear that)!
