MLM Epidemic Hits Real Estate Agents Hard!

By
Real Estate Agent

Ok so that is a pretty strong headline...but it is so true! The economic forecast is looking pretty bleek right now, people are nervous and the conditions are perfect for new MLM opportunities. That means huge numbers of people, who have little to no experience in MLM, are approaching family friends and eventually total strangers trying to rush to get them signed up so they can make what they think will be big money at the end of the month.

With the recent downturn in the real estate market these companies are now telling their reps to go after real estate agents and I personally have been approached so many times over the last 6 months that I'm afraid to answer the phone or go out of the house!

I am a big fan of the MLM concept and the leverage of time to make money.  Agents need to be aware that it takes a lot of hard work and time to be truly successful with any of these opportunities.  You will quickly run out of family and friends ( and may even loose some if you come at them with your opportunity over and over) and have to learn the fine art of attraction marketing ( more money to spend as there are a ton of mlm gurus out there ready to sell you a" great system") in order to become successful and make the money you can make if you take the time to do so.

But you are a real estate agent!  Even if you are struggling right now you understand the time and effort it takes to build your business and know that you need to keep at it so you will be positioned for the next wave.  It is not a new development, real estate had always had peaks and valleys. A distraction right now will throw you off your game and that is exactly what MLM opportunities will do.

  • You know that you need to leverage your time and that is just sound business!
  • You know that you are in real estate and you want focus on that and not have to get a part time job or invest time and money in a MLM opp.
  • You know that there just has to be some way to do both!

There is!  ( you knew I was going say that!)  Connect Realty has built a model that will not only help you take your real estate business to the next level with the tools and support that the average agent simply can not afford on their own, but they also offer a way to leverage your time to make more money with a 3 level residual income opportunity that is unparrelled in the industry.    Now you can relax, grow your business and your team if you choose to do so. ( as a stand alone the real estate model offers you a better commission split, better tools and better support)  You can build multiple streams of income and the payoff if much larger when you figure you will earn 4% override whenever somebody on you team closing a sale.

You don't have to chase down your family members and friends, you just introduce your fellow agents to a better company and if they see it too they will join ( just as thousands of agents are doing right now) and create something that will put you on track to financial freedom for you and your family!

The next time someone approaches you with their 'opportunity" you will be able to say No Thanks...I'm Good!

That is pretty funny. Iwas recentlyapproached by a fellow realtor about a MLM and after thinking about it decided that I wanted my focus to stay on real estate. It was a distraction just trying to figure out the system (which I never fully understood) and I just knew it would take time from my profession. It's enough work to put in 3 solid hours a day of real estate prospecting, much les another business I know little of.
   I enjoyeed your blog.

I have a friend that has been trying to get me active in Monavie but i just don't see doing that and real estate at the same time, just doesn't make sense to me.

I have so many people approach me with MLM. My mentor stated that you must let people know who and what you sell. If you tell them I sell real estate and and and then that does not look professional.

I have not met a truly successful person that has been involved with MLM other than the folks that suck off the people below them in the chain.

I agree with Harry.  Why portray yourself as a pyramid scammer?

Hi Dee,

Good post, I too have been approached by a ton of people over the years to join their opportunity, the number has gone up significantly over the past 6 months.  Years ago I was invited, way too many times, to drop by for a party only to find out it was Amway.  I never joined Amway but as I look back now and I see the group of people that have a net worth of a million or more and I wonder if I should have taken them more seriously.

Like you I only do real estate and I have moved to Connect Realty.  Last week I received a couple of checks from closings of agents under me.  I am very happy to find a business model that rewards me even when I have no closings.

Hey Marc,

I'm very familiar with EXIT as many EXIT agents have moved to Connect, some because their office closed, some because they recognized that there was a greater opportunity with a 3 level model.

You are welcome to check out the calculator for youself and certainly if you have any questions give me a call or email me.
