I was just taking a look at today's Early Bird News from the Florida Association of Realtors.

The News started with the line:

Report: Worst of national housing slowdown is over.

The article continued with the statements made by Sean Snaith - an Economics Professor and Director of UCF's Institute of Economic Competitiveness.

Hey - we all knew things were getting better - it's nice to see that the word is finally getting out!

Hi Marc, Positive press is what we need. Maybe that will bring the buyers out.

Hi Marc, I don't think thats true for Florida.  We have a long way to go before this crummy market picks up!

I think we do have a long way to go until things are GREAT again - but things are definitely improving!

They just ran a news release on this very article last night on several of the news channels here in C. Florida and again this morning.  I found it to be pretty interesting.  One point that they made clear several times over (on the TV new releases) was that a boom like what we saw may never happen again in our lifetime.  Talk about taking positive news and still putting a downer to it.

True - back to the old BS of 'negativity sells'.

EX:

If sales shot up 15% in a year, all the news would say is that "Sales didn't even come close to the 17% increase predicted"!

Marc,

Good news for you Floridians.  Now can you send some of it to Central and Southern California?

Things seem to be moving well, here in Northern Cali however.

Thanks for the encouraging news,

Fran

Hi Fran-

Make it easy on yourself - just join us here in Florida!

BUT - if you insist on staying in CA, I hope things keep getting better!

It's funny - if this is slow, we're going to get creamed when it get's 'busy' again.
