Mike - It looks like we are on the same wavelength.  This was in my show notes, too!

It was in my show notes, too... but I still don't have 100 flippin' fans.

I just listened to the webinar hosted by Randy Eagar  on building a Facebook business.  I followed his steps and started a neighborhood group however, I am confused about the settings.  When I post a discussion topic I can see it on my profile but not on the profile of my fans.  What do I do?  I listened to the webinar again but couldn't find the answers; basically I don't know how to administer the page.  I am looking for ways to optimize the group.  Your name was mentioned on several sources so you are the "go to guy".

Anja - Not sure who Randy is.  Based on what you said, something is wrong - Groups and Pages are completely different.  Think of a Group as a walled off community.  Google doesn't index groups, new information in a group does not show up on the members walls, everything that happens inside a group stays inside a group.

A Page is different.  It's a website within Facebook.  It's content is indexed by Google and shows up in the search results.  New content also shows up on the walls of Fans.  Pages have SEO.  Pages have analytics.  Pages have the abilty to run targeted demographic ads.  Once a Page has 100 fans it can get a Vanity URL.  http://facebook.com/MikeMueller is my personal profile (be my friend) while http://facebook.com/MikeMuellerConsulting is my Business Page.  Both are Vanity URLs.

A Page separates your personal life from your professional life.  You can still, and should, engage your fans as a with all the personality you normally would.  A Page isn't a place to spam people from.

Now with all that said - should you want a Custom Facebook Business Page built for you - Just go to http://AreWeConnected.com/facebook and fill out the 9 question form.

Thanks for the explanation Mike.  I do have a facebook profile and business page however, I wanted to get a neighborhood group going so people do recognize my name without feeling they sign up for a "real estate" facebook page.  I want to get neighbors together through Facebook. So, what you are saying is that nobody can see what is going on or what the discussions are in the group without visiting the website.
