cow, have you heard bannerPitcure:WaukeshaCountyfair.com

Celebrating 167 years this year the Waukesha County Fair is still as grand as when it was in it's first year. Did you know this is the oldest county fair in the state of Wisconsin? Did you know that there is food that is out of this world at the fair? Did you know the entertainment and events are world class at the Waukesha County Fair? One should not miss the 4-H activities. The Waukesha County Fair is the place to celebrate our rural heritage with barnyard animals, crafts, foods, farm displays and, of course, the midway! When I talked to Shari Black (these people work hard to bring out the perfection in the fair) to get permission to use the picture it hit me how long I have been enjoying this beautiful event. One thing is for sure; the Waukesha County Fairhas something to offer for everyone! They offer great VIP seating again this year and the Main stage is always spectacular Main Stage. Not including the VIP seating people, one can still save money on the Waukesha County Fair by going to The Waukesha County Fair 2009. This is a must and ewe should steer yourself there!

Hi Tom-Sounds like a wonderful place to have lots of fun. I haven't been to a county fair in a long time. ENJOY it and share pics with us. Have a great day. <SMILE>

I was a Wisconsin farmer for awhile and my son and I love the animal barn; go figure.

Hi Tom-I think once you have been in farming it never truly leaves your blood. Farmers are hard workers and have a good work ethic, more people need that work ethic today. Enjoy your evening. <SMILE>

I agree with you on the farming. There is an  author named Og Mandino   that wrote "The Greatest saleman in the World". In his book the "Ragpicker" he makes mention "in order to harvest more ears of corn in the fall I must plant more kernels in the Spring." I wonder if anything could be more exact than that statement. Excellent book.

They were so cool that Judy Garland starred in a movie about them. I do like county fairs; perhaps it is the simplest of things like an ear of corn drenched in a vat of butter.

Tom, The fair sounds absolutely wonderful!  I do hope you get to go and come back with some memories of your time there.  I'm sorry I'm not closer!

I am sorry you don't live closer as well. I wish you and Jo and many others lived closer. We could all go out on the dance floor and dosy doe a good time. Funny, some of those memories remind me that the more beer I drank the better dancer I was. Then again, I used to think the same about my pool playing. If I had my way I would hang out in the animal barn, and if Spencer my son had his way he would be on the midway riding a ride that was going to test his maximum G-force.

Tom,  great post.  I can't even go to fairs or zoos or anything anymore b/c it makes me sad...figure that out, I won't go to those things, but keep volunteering at an animal shelter.  I never said I wasn't a bit crazy!!

I understand that completely; it wasn't because I got real sick that I gave up farming, I just got so attached to all my animals I realized that it just was not in me to hurt them. Kristin what you do on a daily event for animals is something anyone would be proud of and pat you on the back. I like things to live in their own environment as well. When Spencer and I went to see "King Kong" I got mad as hell for those people taking that poor Kong out of paradise and doing that to him. I was in the theater clenching my fist pulling for King Kong. You know me well enough now that I cherish everyday. I would probably carry around bird seed with me if I could.

Well my friend you would be the "Fairest of the Fair". Wisconsin has it's fairs, and they are a blast.
