About Rock Creek

The neighborhoods around the Verizon Wireless Virginia Beach Amphitheater, including Rock Creek, have grown so much in recent years that Landstown High School opened in 2001 to help accommodate that population increase.                                                                                                                 

The community is approached from Princess Anne and Salem roads, and is near both interstates 64 and 264, as well as Ferrell Parkway. City services are nearby, as the Virginia Beach Municipal Center is a short drive up Princess Anne Road. Pungo, Sandbridge, Lynnhaven and the Oceanfront are all close by, providing recreation, shopping, and employment accessibility.

Gene Allen, a local Realtor, likes to market homes in the area as they hold thier value well and there is not much competition. 

"Rock Creek has had a recent surge of value to the properties in the past few years," Allen said. "It is ideal for those looking for a home under $300,000, but it has been gradually inching up past that mark this year."

Residents can enjoy outdoor swimming, tennis and playgrounds. There are also several gyms and recreation centers nearby.

Those amenities, as well as the location, led Sean Johnson to purchase a two-story home in 1998.

"I just love living here," Johnson said. "It's convenient to everywhere."

Rock Creek has an active homeowners' association, which helps ensure properties are well-maintained and any changes are not jeopardizing real estate values.

"I love my house's layout," Johnson said. "Also, the homes around here are tastefully different and well-built."

The, residents of Rock Creek can sit outside during the summer and hear music through concerts at the nearby amphitheater.

But the good news is, the homes are built so that it's unheard of to be disturbed inside by the concerts.

"My neighbors are great," Johnson said, "and in my house, I never hear anything I don't want to. It's very quiet."
