For those of you who read my posts here you know family is most important to me.

I'm super grateful for my parents who are inching ever so close to the golden wedding anniversary.

I've had troubling and difficult times in my life, but I always had my mom and dad to turn to when I needed them.

I'm thankful for their love for me and their love for one another.  I have been blessed with a wonderful family.

My parents were hard on me when I needed it, and tender with me when that was what was called for at the time.

I hope I get to have them for decades to come.  I am happy for the lessons they taught me and the love they have shown to me.

They have been wonderful grandparents to my daughter and love her more than life itself.  I wouldn't be where I am in life without my Mama and my Daddy.  Thanks and I love you both.

They have been married 45 years now.  And yes, they were both pretty young at the time.  In fact my mom was a teenager at 19 and half.

Tony and Darcy-  I remember at Christmas of 2007 getting a gift from my dad for my mom from under the tree as we were opening gifts... my dad wrote on the tag : "To my wife, the love of my life" I am so blessed to have the parents I have.

Fernando- My dad comes from a family of 5 and my mom 6 and all the rest of their brothers and sisters are remarried or divorced, my parents are the only ones still married to their first spouse.  I truly feel blessed.

Janice- Being that I am divorced and raised my daughter alone for many years before I married my Donald I hope that my daughter will know it is possible.

Dick and Dixie- Thanks... my husband and I are having dinner with them on Sunday to celebrate our anniversaries.

Mike- I think I was blessed that God placed me in their care and I certainly feel blessed that I still have them.

Hi Tammy, I love the photos you chose for this post! and that you thank your parents and love them!   My parents were married for 60 years, that takes a lot of love, understanding and forgiveness - your folks raised you with love and stayed together with love. Congratulations to your parents on their anniversary!

My mom runs from cameras (and she's fast)  I have photos of pillows being thrown at me and her hand in front of the lense and lots of photos of her back as she was exiting the viewfinder, the irony is the square dance photo I didn't take, but it was emailed to me by her friend.  There are tons of old ones I had to choose from, but not so many recent ones

Sheldon- from someone who just loves to see new pictures of Spencer and Preston I completely understand.  Because I LOVE those posts.

Bob- very well could have been me on their minds.... I'm not sure of the date of that photo, but it was when they lived in NJ, which they did for a year before I was born and about a year and half after I was born.  And thanks for the feature.

I agree that people who stay married that long know that marriage takes work.  And my parents have never been afraid of a little hard work.
