A few weeks ago, I hummed and hawed, backspaced and erased. Nothing expressed how much I appreciate Active Rain. Business, traffic, friends, entertaining critters, classy Realtors, eccentric Inspectors, knowledgeable Lenders, unique photography, inspiring encouragement... shall I go on?

So I came up with an idea, my way of giving back to the Active Rain community.

As some of you know, I was in mortgage lending for a million years. Due to an accident, I had to stop originating mortgages back in '06. Even so to this day, my blood runs thick with lending and since I was and still am WAY TOO YOUNG to retire, I began a mortgage information website called Get-Your-Best-Mortgage-Rate.com.

...anyway as one of our AR inspectors recently remarked, retirement and death seem to be closely related.

But to get to the point... (drum roll please)Lightbulb moment - My way of saying thanks to Active Rain

A few weeks ago I had a light bulb moment. A brilliant idea of offering a nationwide directory to support mortgage lenders.

So I have been busy building a mortgage lender directory called List Of Mortgage Companies. It offers lenders an opportunity to promote their business and receive a link back to their website or blog. It is organized by the 50 states and alphabetized by city.

No strings attached. No fees. No link exchange required. Just my way of saying thanks to the Active Rain community.

if I take $25 off my fee, like at that link, I will owe my potential client $12.50 each time. Can I still make money doing that, based on increased volume. I have heard that one can lose money with every transaction but make up for it in volume.
