Jesus ChristThis week another leader fell. He was looked upon as a "family-values" proponent. He looked good, smelled good, and didn't appear to have any dirt behind his ears. Unfortunately, he sinned greatly against The Lord, his wife and his children. I am talking about Govenor Mark Sanford. So many of us can live with one foot in the kingdom and the other in hell. No man or woman can serve two masters.

Many are being raised up who are calling Christians to account. The choice is to do business with The Lord as usual, or to ask ourselves the hard questions.

This is the first hard question.

What do you call Christ?

·         “You call me eternal, then do not seek me.”

·         “You call me fair, then do not love me.”

·         “You call me just, then do not fear me.”

·         “You call me life then do not choose me.”

·         “You call me light, then do not see me.”

·         “You call me Lord, then do not respect me.”

·         “You call me Master, then do not obey me.”

·         “You call me merciful, then do not thank me.”

·         “You call me mighty, then do not honor me.”

·         “You call me noble, then do not serve me.’’

·         “You call me rich, then do not ask me.”

·         “You call me Savior, then do not praise me.”

·         “You call me shepherd, then do not follow me.”

·         “You call me Way, then do not walk with me.”

·         “You call me wise, then do not heed me.”

·         “You call me Son of God, then do not worship me.”

·         “When I sentence you, then do not blame me.”

--The above is from Chuck Missler's Book "The Kingdom, Power & Glory-- The Overcomer's Handbook". This is a book that is worth reading. It will change the way you look at modern day Christianity and how you're living out your faith. It can be life changing--

Below is powerful video which underscores all of the above.

I pray for true repentance, renewal and revival in my life, in your life and the life of the Church.

John - it has truly been sad these past few weeks for public Christians.  I track all of this stuff very closely and there is not a day when I say to myself, "be careful lest you fall" - none of us are immune to falling.  And in my work as a therapist, believe me I see it in the church all over the place.  I think it comes back to the fact that we don't revere the Lord, or really obey Him.  I love Chuck Missler's work and listen to his show almost daily.  And I like Paul Washer because he has the heart of a prophet calling us to true repentance.  And I'm not sure when that will take place as a whole, but if 911 didn't cause the church in America to repent, then all I can say is sadly, it will take something bigger.  Thanks for the post - and keep the faith.

I am reminded of Jesus's words to the pharisees when they caught the woman in the act "let he that is without sin cast the first stone". We should not be holding ourselves up as paragons of virtue, but humbly living our lives for God, and acknowledging that as others come short, so do we in so many different ways. We must extend mercy if we are going to receive it.
