What is EcoJoe?  The original (and only) eco-friendly home selling kit!

About six months (or more) ago I had dinner with Cindy Lin of Staged4More.com.  While talking about work and other things, she shared her newest project with me.  EcoJoe.  I had to keep quiet about it all this time.  Any guesses how easy that was?!

Cindy’s Mission:
-Change the way real estate industry uses plastic
-Reduce plastic usage
-Reduce amount of plastic being buried into landfills or your backyard!
-Promote green practices

Cindy’s Description:
The practice of burying a St. Joseph statue dates back thousands of years, when he was first called upon to help sell real estate. Today, home sellers and real estate agents continue the tradition to enlist the saint’s assistance in finding a buyer. Sadly, most of the home selling kits on the market are made of plastic and other content that are harmful to the environment. As an eco-conscious real estate home staging professional, I saw this as an opportunity to create a greener alternative. Our sourcing, production, packaging, materials and distribution support green initiatives and social responsibility.

Cindy will be bringing EcoJoe with her to the StagersLIST Expo in Dublin, California on July 15, 2009.  Please register and join us at the expo, we have some great sponsors and speakers this year, it is a completely different expo from last year.

I think EcoJoe is a great idea and I'm glad I can finally spread the word about this new product.  Great job Cindy Lin!

Susan and I laughed heartily when we read about Eco Joe. What a clever idea! I must admit that the first thing I thought of was coffee, but maybe that's because it was morning...

Haha!  Glad you had a laugh.  Yes, I think it's pretty clever too.  Your kind of eco-joe would be a good thing too Laurie!

Chris--You have my interest, but I am still skeptical of Joe. as a marketing tool.  Maybe that is my Catholic upbringing gone awry.  Any way keep us informed.

Carol - I think it was a great idea, and she had no idea how much work was involved in creating, packaging, etc., a new product.

Mary - With anything like this, I believe it's the power of intention or the thought energy you put into the act as you perform it that causes (or doesn't) a result.

Marchel - It sure will! One of the main problems with the usual St. Joseph statue is that it is made of plastic and people often don't dig them back up when the house sells.  These left in the ground can cause problems.  EcoJoe won't cause any problems if left in the ground.

Chris, They are still burying the statues here and I think that's a FANTASTIC idea!  I love it and think it will take off.

Hi Carole!  I think it's a great idea too.  Why not buy the eco-friendly choice if you are buying one anyway.

Hi Chris, I have a neighbor who did this practice and sold her home very quickly. She said that part of the ritual is to take Joe out of the grounds and you move him with you to your new home, not to leave him in the ground upside down under any circumstances.  But like many, when they get what they want, they move on....Very smart concept, how is she marketing this?

Hi Michelle that was exactly Cindy's thought. How many people do not dig the statue up after the sale! So here we have ecojoe who will still be okay if you leave him there. If you have a choice between Eco-friendly and plastic... Why not.  Not sure about her marketing plan, but I'll find out next week when I see her at the Expo.

I'd like to have some Eco-Joes.  I've never buried St. Joseph before and don't know the ritual......I just recently heard that he has to be upside down.

Hi Ann - Yes, it does have to be upside down and you are supposed to dig it up after the house sells and display the statue in your new home.  The problem is many people don't take that last step and the statue is left in the ground.  I'll get pre-order information from Cindy Lin at the Expo next week & let you know.
