14 Comments on Symphony in the Park's FINAL Summer Pops Concert, 2009
What a great way to celebrate the 4th! Hope you have a great weekend.
Hi Debe....Love to Come, sounds like a popular event to attend. You probably need to get there early to get a good spot.
Cheers, thanks for letting us know about the Last Symphony for the Summer in Charlotte.
Hi Debe, There is nothing more fun than a symphony in the park,,,except a symphony and fireworks! Sounds like a great evening! Have a Happy Fourth, too!
Debe: I am going to guess that perhaps more women than men attend concerts like this. So... I propose that they start referring to it as the Summer Moms Concert. Whaddya think ?
... love the red white and blue presentation !
I just saw another blog like this tonight and it looks great !
And a fun event with the Symphony and Fireworks !
Have a great weekend Debe !
Sheldon :o)
Hi Debe - I love the summer pop's concert series - especially around July 4th. Have a great holiday and enjoy the music...
Hi Barb! Thanks and you do the same!
Hi Fred! Come on down--we'd LOVE to have you! And, yes, you do need to get there early to get a good seat--this is the favored of the symphony's series!
Hi Mary! You're SO right! (Perhaps I should have used that for the title!!) Have a great 4th!
Hi Karen! LOL--I've not noticed there to be an imbalance--perhaps the moms are insisting that the dads attend??!!
Hi Sheldon! Well, I HAD to go with red, white and blue for this one!! I hope you and yours enjoy your Independence Day weekend--I'm working ALL weekend! (I'm not complaining!)
Hi Ryan! Me too--the fireworks and the patriotic music just 'do something' for this Air Force brat!
Have a wonderful Independence Day everyone!
I wish we had one of these in Birmingham. We always enjoy watching the televised performances on the 4th and I'm sure we will do that this year too.
Have a great weekend.....be safe!
Debe, I agree with Barb --- what a wonderful way to spend the 4th. Hope you and your family have a fun filled weekend.
Debe, our Summer Pops series are always my favorite. Many years ago my husband and I were in Boston for the 4th. We were fortunate enough to see John Williams conduct the Boston Pops while the fireworks went off over the river. What a great experience!
Hi Ann! You sound like my hubby--that's his preference too! I like the REAL thing!!
Hi Mama Liz! Thanks and you too!
Hi Connie: How cool is THAT?! I would LOVE to be in Boston or Philly for the Fourth one year.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Independence Day!
Debe - What a way to spend the 4th of July! I would love to be there to see the Charlotte Symphony perform those patriotic songs but since I can't do you think you might be able to simulcast this? :) Have a wonderful Indpendence Day with your family!
Hi Donna! Unfortunately (or FORTUNATELY!), I was working until about 8:45 and missed the whole thing! I was then playing catch-up on emails and office work and missed the news to see the coverage--ARRGH! I know it was a hit this year--as always! We had perfect weather for it and the lawn was filling up as I passed by there last evening around 6:30. Maybe next year!
Have a wonderful Independence Day!
Sounds like a great event, hoping your enjoying the 4th of July weekend!
