Superstition - it runs rampant in our society.  Whether it's a rabbit's foot, a four leaf clover, a horse shoe... maybe even "lucky underwear", a good portion of the population has some kind of personal "lucky charm".

Home Staging Professionals seem to be no different. Some have their "lucky red couch" while others have "lucky artwork", floral arrangements or even butterflies.  I was beginning to think that I didn't have anything "lucky" per-say, truth be told I hadn't really had much time to think about it since our inventory is moving from one house to another so quickly, and we mix and match everything for every house....  However, I think I found our Muse, a "Lady".

Platinum Home Staging, Inc.Remember this picture not so long ago?

Many viewers here in the Rain raved about this painting and how beautiful it is.  It dawned on me yesterday as I was delivering it to my Seller's new home (Yes, the Seller of this home loved it so much herself that she bought it)...  I was going to miss my "Lady Painting".  She had seen me through so much.

Like this home in Thousand Oaks that sold with multiple offers...

Or this home in Los Feliz that sold in 5 days

Then I thought to myself, "OH NO!  Did I just SELL my LUCKY CHARM?!  My 'Lucky Lady' painting?!"

Good thing I had 2 in my inventory - it will just be harder to convince my husband that it HAS to be removed from our living room to sell my next Staged Home.

Do you have a "lucky charm"?

Hi Connie -- I love hearing about lucky staging items!  Mine is a collection of small books with Irish sayings .... I leave one on the nightstand in the master bedroom and the homes almost always sell very quickly!

I suspect the lucky lady is you, my dear. :)

. . . and the next 'lucky pic' you use will confirm that it is your skills that make the difference!

I agree with Candice, you are the constant in your success story!  That "lady" couldn't have sold the houses without you to place her in just the right location!

I agree with the previous stagers comments and my husband really gets upset if I remove any of the treasures from our home for a staging project!!

Belief in yourself is all the "luck" you need Connie and apparently your successes prove that.  It's nice that you have 2 though ;-)

The first house I staged for this one particular Realtor sold in 14 days.   The second one she hired me for went under contract in 7 days.  She had noticed that I had put the book "the secret" on a night stand in each of these houses.  The next time I staged for her that particular book was already out at another home and I place another different book on the nightstand.  The Realtor went and bought her own copy and replaced the book I had left.  Under contract in 23 days!  Now if I am out, she has back ups to place on a night stand at her listing!

What an interesting post, Connie!  I do love that large art piece that you have in your inventory.  We also have several duplicate pieces of our most favorite and versitle art pieces.

I don't think luck has anything to do with it.  You are just very creative and talented!

Thank you, Donna~ hard work & SOOOOOO much more ;)

Cathy ~ my husband has gotten a little "used to" a painting or two being moved around or replaced by something else for a period of time.  Nothing major like furniture though - never that bad!

Very "lucky" I have 2, Karen O., I think this particular piece has been discontinued by this particular vendor.

That's hysterical, Karen D.! Except now your "Secret" is out ;)

Thanks, Diane! DO you find that there is one in particular that seems to be your charm?

Awe, thank you, Cindy. You're so sweet ((more blushing))

Connie, I am with everyone who says - you are the lucky lady - lucky for your clients!  I do like the idea of lucky books, though honestly haven't tried it... A house I staged in June made me laugh, they had 4 copies of the secret in the bookcases I rearranged, so I made sure they were spread around to spread the wealth - it did get 3 offers over list in short order, I think it was my staging though... :-)
