What many don't understand that are in my line of work is that it isn't just about "The Benjamins!" I'm a firm believer that if you are good at what you do, success will follow.

People should not be "a deal". Our clients should be treated with respect, empathy and understanding of their situations. Life happens and it's great to help people acheive their goals and objectives. For me, that is much more rewarding than "The Benjamins!"

My being a California Mortgage Broker has allowed me to do the following 6 things in the last 30 days:

1.) I helped a client get out of $45,000 in Credit Card Debt, with interest rates varying between 18-24%.

2.) I helped a hard working and well deserving non-permanent resident alien and his family to purchase their first home in the United States.

3.) I helped a family purchase a home for their college student to attend Chico State.

4.) I helped a client in Southern California get out of his Adjustable rate mortgage that was set to "readjust" to 7.5% and got him into a 30-year fixed at 6.625%

5.) I helped a client get a home equity line of credit to help pay for their child's college tuition.

6.) I helped a family purchase an investment property in Lake Tahoe to be a rental/vacation home.

Here's my question to Californians....

Who's next?

I'm here to help you with your home loan and finance needs. Give me a call and we'll go through your goals and objectives. At the end of the day, you'll walk away happy and feeling well served.

I seek Win/Win relationships!

Scott,

Nice post. You seem to be a genuinely nice guy. Too many people think that our clients are just another deal!

And I thought it was about the interest rates the Benjamins can make at a latter date.

I certainly agree, people have stereotyped our industry as money hungry people.  Some are, but there are some of us who genuinely care about relationships with their clients.  Great post.

Hi Scott - I was going through some of my old posts, and you were my very first comment on my very first post!  Thank you again for that.  It has been a pleasure reading yours and this one is another excellent one from you!  You really have a way of making people comfortable with you and I am sure that shows in your work besides your blog as well!

Most originators lose focus when they see the money that can be made on the financing side of real estate. Burying clients in excessive fees just limits your ability to ask for and to receive a referral.................

Its all about giving clients good deals

Life is about people, not money. I believe we are not in it alone. And any time I get the opportunity to lend a helping hand, I do
