Thought it might be fun to start a new series of posts asking readers to turn detective and identify the subject and location of a photo.

Here's the first in the series. I'll give you a hint--- it was taken somewhere in New Mexico!

Two questions for you sleuths out there:

  1. What the heck is it?
  2. Where was the photo taken?

Here's the photo:

ray in a tank

Anyone else want to play? We could start a new group for photo detectives!

Well it is a stingray or skate, and it is through glass so it must be an aquarium?

A ray in New Mexico?  The picture is too obvious, but the clue is throwing a kink on that answer.  I will go with a Cactus that looks like a stingray.

Couldn't click my keys quick enough to beat our friends above.  Must be the time zones.  Stingray in a big fish tank.

Eric, you're right about the ray... as to the second part, maybe he was attempting to, but the glass was getting in the way :)

And EEWWW! I was on the other side of the glass taking the pic!

Edward and Celia, LOL!

Aren't there any New Mexicans out there who can figure out where this was taken?

Robert, and everyone,

Yes, there's an Albuquerque Aquarium, and the photo is of a ray in that aquarium.

Thanks, all who played detective!

Good to know Laura.  I was going to guess a painting of Mt. Fuji at dusk.  Guess I was WAY off, lol
