I was out recently with a buyer client, touring houses. We stopped at the sales model  in a new home subdivision. The client was checking out the exterior of the house while I was saying goodbye to the sales agent. He came back inside and wanted to know why there was an iron beam sticking out of the side of the house. We went to look at it. This is what we saw.

It turned out that the landscaper had at some point hit the sewer clean out cap with a lawnmower and it had hit and penetrated the vinyl siding of the house. It is a good thing no one was injured.

That is amazing and if you didn't have the photo to show no one would have believed it.  Life is funny often, real stuff comes up that you can't even make up!

Good grief -- that is a strange one indeed. Interesting how these weird things happen.

Injured, they are lucky no one is dead! I can't believe no one said a thing about that when it happened, because you certainly had to have heard it!

We think that the landscaper wears ear protection and might not have heard it. A follow up from the sales agent is that the siding and sewer cleanout were repaired. The landscape company was also notified as to what happened.

Hi Rich, How are you?  I hope that you have been well. So happy to see your smiling face!  Funny the things you find in and outside of a home when you look carefully!

That's crazy.  Glad the buyer saw that so that it could get repaired before it caused some other problems - like falling out on someone's head, etc :-)

Wow. When I first saw the beam, I was thinking tornado or hurricane because I've seen pictures of some of the stuff those winds send through buildings and trees.
