Tax Lien sales can be a great way to start in real estate investing with out putting out a lot of money. The 2005 tax sale is held in June for the Cook County townships.  At these sales you will see many different type of property.

 I would always see what tax liens are up for auction before you try to get them.  The reason being is that some of the properties are not the best kind to have.  Yes you will be getting them for cents on the dollar, but it can cost money to make them profitable.

June 11 - Proviso, Rich, River Forest, Riverside, Schaumburg, Stickney, Thornton.
June 12 - Thornton.
June 13 - Thornton, Wheeling, Worth, Hyde Park.
June 14 - Hyde Park.
June 15 - Hyde Park, Jefferson.
June 18 - Jefferson, Lake.
June 19 - Lake.
June 20 - Lake.
June 21 - Lake, Lake View.
June 22 - Lake View, North Chicago, Rogers Park, South Chicago.
