Are fireworks in the hands of the common folk still legal up there? I thought just about every state had made them illegal.

Rebecca, and Lou,

Enjoy Your holiday weekend too!

Russel,

Fireworks are still legal in some parts of Whatcom County! Firworks here are still a very big part of our holiday!

Safe and Happy 4th!

Hey, Judy - Fireworks are a big part of the holiday here, too, just not in the hands of the common folk. Part of it has to do with the high fire hazard area that is California, and the other part is because they are simply dangerous. I never could imagine holding something in my hands that, when lit, was capable of blowing my hand off or even killing me. Just never made sense to me.

Russel,

I agree, I was born and raised in LA County. I lived there most of my life, then moved to Washington 10 years ago! I remember the wildfires and the firwork shows! I myself don't go near the firworks, watching them is nice!

The reservations here sell them! Many of these stand close to the reservations have been selling them for years and are family owned buisnesses. We get so much rain in Whatcom County that wildfires are not as common as they are in California!

I hope you enjoyed your holliday!
