I thought I would share with you a few quotes from our late presidents. I find it fascinating to peak into their thoughts at such a poignant time in history.
Three of our presidents actually died on the 4th of July. John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and James Monroe. Adams and Jefferson were close yet far apart on some of their ideas on how we should establish our nation. Reading through letters that they shared it is amazing to read the respectful disagreements that they had over key issues.
I believe that we are fortunate that these men were able to see the common ground they had and work out their differences for the sake of our nation. I hope that those makeing tough choices today would look back on these great men and strive to do the same... for the sake of us all.

My God! How little do my countrymen know what precious blessings they are in possession of, and which no other people on earth enjoy! ~Thomas Jefferson
Let us tenderly and kindly cherish, therefore, the means of knowledge. Let us dare to read, think, speak, and write. ~John Adams
Our country may be likened to a new house. We lack many things, but we possess the most precious of all - liberty! ~James Monroe
Our greatest happiness does not depend on the condition of life in which chance has placed us, but is always the result of a good conscience, good health, occupation, and freedom in all just pursuits. ~Thomas Jefferson
4th of July quotes-Freedom Earned Education
National honor is the national property of the highest value. ~James Monroe
Educate and inform the whole mass of the people... They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty. ~Thomas Jefferson
I hope our wisdom will grow with our power, and teach us, that the less we use our power the greater it will be. ~Thomas Jefferson
4th of July Quotes-Life in the USA
As much as I converse with sages and heroes, they have very little of my love and admiration. I long for rural and domestic scene, for the warbling of birds and the prattling of my children. ~John Adams
I always consider the settlement of America with reverence and wonder, as the opening of a grand scene and design
in providence, for the illumination of the ignorant and the emancipation of the slavish part of mankind all over the earth. ~John Adams
I like these well selected quotes. I knew Presidents Adams and Jefferson died on the 4th but had forgoten about Monroe, thank you for the reminder and have a hppy day.
