It has been raining here in Indy ALL DAY LONG nonstop.  Usually on the fourth you hear fireworks all throughout the day.  All I've been listening to all day is the rain which has pretty much put me into a comatose state.  I had/have absolutely no energy today.

Our neighborhood usually has a parade and the spirit of it was dampened by the rain, literally.  I'm wondering if the rain will stop in time to for the fireworks spectacular they hold every year downtown.

No smells of barbeque, and sounds of family outside having a great time...I'm sure as soon as the rain stops, there will be swarms of people shooting off the fireworks they spent their hard earned money on.

All in all, we should take time to reflect on the true meaning of this day and give many thanks for our freedom!  :)

What was it like in your neck of the woods this Independence Day?

Well, Chanda, it rained in the morning but I continued showing houses to my clients. The sun came out this afternoon while I was returning phone calls and emails and reading contracts. When I walked around the corner to join a client for snacks and consultation, there was reggae music to the west and jazz to the east - street musicians on the plaza. After finishing my last contract, I started home. On the short drive past Loose Park and through Brookside, there were people walking everywhere. Some to fireworks displays, some with their dogs, some with strollers - everybody I met at each stop was happy and relaxed. It's a good day in Kansas City.

I've been in Indy and seen those fireworks go.  It's different for us in Nevada.  Fireworks are illegal here and we can only see them in controled areas!

We had the most beautiful day here in Massachusetts after what felt like MONTHS of rain, rain and more rain!  I'm so thankful to have had such a nice sunny day, not too hot or too cold and full of food and family!

Have a great night!

Sincerely,

Kathleen

We were in Columbus Ohio for a wedding yesterday and decided to watch their downtown fireworks with my son.  I am glad we decided to do that, as I didn't know we were going to get this all day!

We had a great day in maryland, and I had a nice dinner with friends in Bethesda - no fireworks, but a wonderful day none the less. Happy 4th to you all!

Chanda, here in O'Fallon, IL it rained all morning and early afternoon.  It finally let up around 4PM with intermittent shower.  We watched the fireworks around 9PM, no rain, but after it was over it started raining again.  You're right, it didn't feel like July 4th, I didn't see smoke from grills and no lighter fluid smell either.  :)

Hi Chanda, here in Orlando FL we had rain in the mourning, but during the afternoon the clouds went away and the Sun came out, so the family and I went to downtown Disney to see the fireworks show and have dinner at the Rain Forest Cafe which was nice, They had 2 shows, one at Animal kingdom and the other at Magic Kingdom. Watching the Fireworks while eating dinner was a first, and we really enjoyed it. :)

I'm happy to see the weather was either nice all day or at least the last half of the day was nice for most of you.  Our fireworks show was postponed till this evening so I guess in a way it's kind of nice because we are celebrating two days in a row.  :)

Chanda, guess you will have some weather today as the sun is shining here in Wisconsin and it should be coming your way.

Chanda,

Today was warm and dry here! We usually have at least a little rain on the forth, not this year! It has been a dryer than usual Summer so far! The festivities were also great! Send some of that rain this way! We miss it!

Enjoy the weekend!

Chanda, we were fortunate in Lake Norman and had a gorgeous, party sunny 87 degree day.  The humidity seemed lower than usual for this time of year too.  I could see the fireworks blazing over the lake.  It was gorgeous.  I spent the day with 40 neighbors just hanging out eating, talking and playing.
