San Diego Real Estate - Big Bay Boom July 4th Celebration

                                                 San Diego Big Bay Boom

San Diegoans stare in awe at the night sky of the amazing specular pyrotechnics on display tonight throughout 16 areas of San Diego. And yes, yours truly will be at one of them, hopefully to get some new outstanding pictures for next years post.

The Big Bay Boom as it is called on the Bay in Downtown San Diego has a budget of over $100,000 and is best seen from Seaport Village. One of the best ways to get is there is park at one of the satellite trolley stations near downtown and take the trolley. You can avoid much of the traffic associated with this annual event and simply walk from the trolley station to Seaport Village.

Some of the other great locations around the county include, La Jolla, Ocean Beach, SeaWorld, Camp Pendleton, Poway, Mira Mesa, El Cajon, Coronado. Not to worry that you will miss something, these shows are all coordinated with two production companies, Fireworks America and Pyro Spectaculars and though some of the shows may be a little smaller, the varieties of fireworks and the displays will be extraordinary no matter which one of the shows you attend are more convenient.

Though most of the fireworks come from China, San Diegoans will see some of the more expensive and high end selections from Spain ,Portugal and Italy. These are not to be missed. Happy July 4th Everyone and Be Safe as we celebrate our Nation's Birthday.

William, It sounds like fun!  I hope my friend is able to see them.  She has a view of San Diego so maybe she will be able to see them from her balcony.  She has had health issues that has kept her fairly house bound.

Woo Hoo, I tried to get the best of what was there but you have to be so fast and I didn't take a tripod. Here is one you might like.

Hi Marchel,

The night sky all over San Diego was abaze of fireworks. If she could see the sky, chances are she had a good view.

Hi Diane, The 4th this year was a 3 day weekend it just disappeared. But I did enjoy getting out and seeing the fireowrks and the neighbors found me and that was fun to see their whole family celebrating the event. I was of course busy trying to snap photos and got a few good ones.

Hi Rene, San Diego does know how to trow a party. The attendance was extrordinary. I think most people just wanted to be in a happy place and there are none better than San Diego for a good time.

Looks like you got some good photos--can you believe I forgot my camera?

Hi Cynthia, One of things I realized that I needed to take a tripod and also special filters that cut the glare. Slow but sure I will get all this down. Sorry you forgot your camera. BTW, I also took a point and shoot and those pics were no worse than what I did on the SLR digital camera. Hope your 4th was special and that and your family did some have so fun.

Hi Sharon, There have been a few years that I missed as well. It never quite feels right not to celebrate one of the biggest birthdays. It always seems like it will be just such hassle with so many people and you know what, it is never as difficult as we imagine and when we finally get there, it is so worth it. I'll include another of my shots since you missed them. This was at the finale. That white thing in the left corner is the moon in case you are wondering, :-)

Hi Jeff, Thanks but it made me a little nuts. In the first place, I actually want to do a way better job and now that I realize what is needed , I suspect by next year, I will have the process down. There is a place here in SD with nightly fireworks and I will go to a nearby place and practice until I get it right, :-). I for one am not happy with these at least compared to the beauty that I witnessed. So another lesson will be in order specifically to address this. And maybe a few new camera parts, LOL.

WooHooo!  It was like I was right there with you William! Thank you for sharing all your wonderful display of fireworks pics....  At the first pop Shadow scooted on top of our bed and behind our heads on the pillow lol. We had to close everything up and put the a/c on to drown out the noise.....

Hi Sally, I could only wish that the fireworks photos had come out a bit better. I didn't get much chance to practice the shots  because just as soon as I would get the camera set, the location was of the next big bay boom was slightly to the right or the left or below where I was pointing the lens. If I had used a tripod and a telephoto lens with a faster shutter speed, I would have had better pictures. Learned too late to get it right but next time, it will be better. BTW, I intend to practice at Sea World since they shoot off fireworks every night, :-)
