It is amazing That the Declaration of Independence was drafted in such a short time. The first part was influenced by the Virginia declaration of Rights. Lets give credit to the Virginians first!
Drafted by Thomas Jefferson between June 11 and June 28, 1776, the Declaration of Independence is the nation's most celebrated, cherished and respected symbol of liberty. It is also Thomas Jefferson’s most endearing and formidable document.Later on came the Bill of Rights and The Constitution.
It is mostly a list of hard list of grievances against the English. It is our declaration of Independence from the “mother country”. It is our self proclaimed right to govern ourselves without any foreign influences. It is the day when our country was born.It had only 13 colonies then…we have achieved so much since then.
In our small island of Fort Myers Beach Florida, the sun may be hot these days on our heads but we have not forgotten that we do live in the greatest country in the world.Period.We are also pretty independent and we also cut off from our mother city Fort Myers years ago… on December 31 1995.
