Schools in the West Chatham Area (Pooler, Port Wentworth, Garden City, and parts of Bloomingdale and Savannah)

If you are moving to the area or just changing areas, here is a little help for those with children. Although the school year just ended, it is never to early to start thinking about the next year. This is especially true if you are moving. The 2007-2008 school year will begin September 4th, 2007. This has changed from last year, so you may want to make a note of it.
Elementary Schools: (all schools have Gifted Education Programs for indentified gifted students)
Bloomingdale Elementary is located on East Main Street in Bloomingdale. This is a magnet school that focuses on fine and performing arts. Bloomingdale is situated over Chatham and Effingham Counties. Garden City Elementary is located on Kessler Avenue, is home of the Knights, and is a Title One Distinguished School. Garden City is the closest city in West Chatham to downtown Savannah. How does this school rank? Click here for more information.
Pooler Elementary is located on Holly Avenue and is home of the Bulldogs. The school is located almost centrally in the older Gleason Heights subdivsion. Pooler is and has undergone some growth. There have been many new subdivision built and some just starting. There are also plans for more retail and a new elementary and middle school. How does this school rank? Port Wentworth Elementary is located on South Coastal Highway and is a Title One Distinguished School. Port Wentworth has experienced recent growth as well. There are several new subdivision and new retail places recently finshed or being built. How does this school rank? Click here for more information.
West Chatham Elementary is located on Pine Barren Road. It is located in Pooler, Georgia as well. In fact, it is approximately 10 minutes away from Pooler Elementary. It is located near several newer subdivisions and next to the Middle School with the same name. How does this school rank? Click here for more information.
Middle Schools:
Mercer Middle School is located on Rommel Avenue in Garden City. It is a Georgia Lighthouse School to Watch. For more information on how the school ranks, click here.
