Let's face it, you don't think of getting sick on vacation. But with college kids maine snowstorm sunset

taking semesters in a European country happening more and more as part of their education to broaden their experience, health care is a concern. But until you need it, health care in downtown Paris France or London England. Universal health care for free? Free European Health Insurance Card..do you have one? What about if you are below the 2009 poverty guidelines in this country and who wants to help? Socialized health care and how it factors into a US traveler's health care provision to a foreign land?

Health care when you get sick in a European country and need an immediate health care response and can not put off until you are back stateside.

Andrew: you should have posted this two months ago, as I sent my daughter to France for a month. Luckily nothing happened. But this is absolutely fascinating as we do plan on taking more trips abroad each year. Many thanks for sending this out as it is not only a help, but a wake up call to those who travel. Good tip, Andrew. Now, tell me where a person can find affordable health care in this country.

Maria...get a $20,000 or larger deductible for cancer coverage and live healthier..eating, exercising, less stress, learn not to worry and ease back a tad so you won't get sick. You are right though, it is expressive to get sick or you can not afford to in this country.
