Fire Island Pines is a hamlet in the town of Brookhaven, NY. Fire Island is a barrier island off the south shore of Long Island.

Beach grass planted on the dunes.

Tons of new sand from dredging off shore has widened the beach and heightened the dunes. Fences have been erected to help protect the dunes.
