HAPPY BIRTHDAY - June 29, 1944

"I was born in Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket, RI at 12:30 pm on Thursday, June 29. 1944. My Mommy told me that she was going to the movies and she knew I was going to be born so she went to the hospital instead."

"I am only 2 in this photo and my Daddy is in the service protecting my country, the USA. I really miss him and so does my Mommy, she is always writing to him and calls them her love letters and always inserts a picture of me. She says, I am Daddy's little girl and he misses us, too."

" I am waiting for him to come home so we can play and he can hug me and hug me. I miss him so much and I know he misses me and Mommy, too."


"Mommy, Daddy and me are a happy family. We live in an apartment house at 94 Warren Avenue in East Providence, RI. When my Daddy gets out of the Army he says we are moving to 413 Warren Avenue, way down the street at Nana's house. We will all be together there, and I will have my own bedroom.Wow!"

"This is my best friend, Diane, we are sitting on the step at my Poppy's house at 395 Broadway, in East Providence, RI. We are waiting for Mommy to come home from work at the American Lace Mill. My Aunt Isabel, who I call Boby, is taking this picture so we can send it to Daddy. She and Poppy take care of me so Mommy can make some money, she sews at the Lace Mill."




"This is my favorite, I love to dress up. It was taken in Providence at Loring Studio. I am 3 years old now."

TERRY: It is never too late. You must have photos in some remote place in albums or boxes that are tucked away and very seldom looked at. With the efficiency of quick digital photos and scanning equipment, you can now journal/ blog and add images for generation to see.

IRENE:  Thank you for enjoying my photos and sending me your good wishes. It was a most memorable birthday that I can say I ever had. Growing up I shared my birthday with my paternal grandmother, Nana. And every June 29th there was always Nana's party I attended. Some years my birthday was forgotten, no wishes, no cake, no gift. Many years I would cry on my birthday. I loved my Nana and love celebrating her birthday. She lived a good life to 94.

BOB: you are so sweet a guy. your selection of flowers are greatly admired this evening. I have been so stressed out about my daughter-in law, Victoria,  lately that these flowers came in just at the right time. Thank you for your thoughtfulness. I did have a terrific unexpected surprise party.
