As I was putting together a special photo album for some folks that work with inner city children, I realize how much I love taking pictures - especially of children. Some folks say I have a gift to be able to blend in with the background and take the candid shots. I don't really know. Maybe I am just lucky. Lucky to be at the right place at the right time... Lucky to be able to see what others take for granted. Whatever the case, I am so grateful that I have this gift to be able to share with the world.

At a special graduation for inner city children a few weeks ago, I was blessed with the opportunity to be able to take some wonderful photos of some very, very special children that participated in the graduation ceremonies.

Children, who would not be able to get a start in this life if it were not for the dedication of some wonderful individuals to take their time to believe that all children, rich or poor, are our hope and our future. Children are so full of life, so full of potential, so full of hope. I hope that we can all help them fulfill their hopes and and we can all have pleasant dreams...

Michael, those are beautiful photos of children. I think that is wonderful.

And for this holiday weekend, how important is it that we all remember the premise this country was built on..

"We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal..."

We should remember this always. As you reminded us.

Bill, Thanks! I kinda liked that one too. I choked back on a 300mm to get that one as I was taking pictures of some of the kids on the stage. I caught this cute little girl out of the corner of my eye and fired away. She was very enamored at what I was doing. Turned out better than I anticipated...

Michael - I always look forward to your shots.  These are so telling... the wide eyed innocence of youth.  O loved the beads of dew ont he butterfly's wings this morning, as well.  Well done... and it is a gift that you have honed into something else!

Your words are so true;

Children are so full of life, so full of potential, so full of hope

As a father I see that in my children.

A beautiful post.
