Fort Myers has a lot to offer and it also prides it self as being a pet friendly vacation destination. I was surprised to find out that we do have quite a few vacation accommodation in Fort Myers. Being dog owners, my wife and I, often find it a challenge to find a place to vacation at for a few days or a week. Often the choices are very limited and the quality of the accommodation dull at best.

Not so with Cape Coral. You will find a vast variety of choices. Here are some of the major Fort Myers pet friendly hotels and such.

Fort Myers Pet friendly hotels inns and more

Most hotels will charge from $10-$20/night for your pet, however the more luxurious ones do charge much more.Look carefully at the weight limit. I suppose if you are within the limit you can always say that your dog just gained weight and tinkered with the scale!

and Welcome to Fort Myers!

This is a great idea for a post.  We have a Doberman and a Jack Russell Terrier.   We usually leave them in the comfort of our home and have someone dog sit them.  We took Lady our Jack Russell Terrier when she was younger.  We have friends who have a pet sitting/home sitting business.   www.LakesideEstateCare.com  They are awesome!

Jennifer: it can be a challenge trying to travel with a pet. Specially a large one. Most owners who cannot bring them along always mention them and wish they were part of the trip.

Cynthia: thank you. After a few days your pet will adapt. As long as you provide nice treats, they are okay. Also it gives a good chance for your pet to work on his/her Tweeter profile and send pictures of their trip.

Wendy: a Jack Russel Terrier and a Doberman? That is a colorful duo! They get along well? your friends sound like natural pet sitters. Hopefully they don't start crazy parties the minute you leave.
