Absolutely correct Bill. Defaulting when you can afford is just plain stupid!

To many people hear how terrible it is to lose equity and believe they are victims. I've toured thousands of homes and never once seen the equity! On a day to day basics equity has no immediate useful function, and thanks to amortization it always comes back even if the market doesn't.
